    Yup sample crate has several great features. I especially like being able to play an audio file easily before import.

    Koala now has a "Samples Browser" you can open in the bottom right hand corner (in Sample or Sequence mode). You can navigate through your files and preview them, and even add favorite "Locations."

    In terms of importing a 16 pad drum kit, if you use Kit Maker, you can convert your drum one-shot sample packs, or your Maschine Expansions, into folders of kits (using the Numbered Files format). This makes it so you aren't importing random files in a random order, but pre-mapped out drum kits that put the sample categories (kicks, snares etc) in a consistent pad order like real expansion packs map them out.

    You just select the contents of one of the kit folders, and drag onto the pads, without having to leave Koala (example GIF at the bottom of this webpage).

    Kit Maker is an app I worked on so I am biased, but I do think it works really well with Koala's browser for importing full drum kits. I also appreciate the idea behind Sample Crate, especially before Koala had the handy Samples Browser :)

    Thanks for the tips! I spoke to you last year about adding Koala file format support to Kitmaker. At the time you weren't able to reach the developer. He is a member of the Audiobus Forum (Elf Audio). It would be great if direct Koala kit support were added, a win/win for two great products! In any event, Number Files is an excellent alternative!
