AUM and Audiokit
Dear Audiobuzzers,
i´m quite new in IOS Music-making.
In the search-function i couldn't find something helpful. So, now I ask directly.
I use AUM as a Host (love It) and want to use Synth One from Audiokit and D1 from Audiokit for a Live-Gig.
Problem:
Aum and Synth One are just saving the last used preset, and not that preset, that i want to use in a specific Project. It costs so much time to load the project AND go to Synth One and finde the right preset.
Aum and D1: The Preset I saved for a specific project, will load in that project. Great.
But strange enough, there is no sound coming from D1. I've first to change the preset and change it back again, which is really silly.
I love the Synth One, the D1 and of course AUM. And i want to use it.
Does anyone have the same issues and maybe can help me????
Thanx a lot!
Matti

Unfortunately you're out of luck with Synth One.
There are two types of iOS plugins, IAA (sometimes called Standalone) and AUv3. AUv3 plugins have a feature called "state saving", which allows the host to save and restore all the settings. IAA/Standalone apps don't have this ability. Some apps have both an IAA and an AUv3 version. If you're sure to use the AUv3 version then you can get back to where you left off just by loading the host session. Unfortunately, Synth One doesn't have an AUv3 version.
As for Digital D1, be sure you're using the AUv3 version, not the standalone version if you aren't already. I'm not seeing the same behavior you describe when using the AUv3 version. It takes a little while to fully load the state and start making noise, but it does work after a few seconds without changing presets.
Synth One does have Audiobus state saving. Audiobus provides a special way to save IAA/Standalone app state if apps include this ability. You'd have to switch from AUM to Audiobus, or use AUM and Audiobus together to get that though.
IMO Synth One isn't worth making that switch for, since it's somewhat problematic in general, but that is an alternative.
Synth One is a standalone app. It is not possible for AUM to restore its state.
Unless a standalone app implements the Audiobus protocols for state-saving and you are using Audiobus, standalones can’t have their state saved and restored.
If you want state-saving in AUM, you need to use an AUv3 synth and not a standalone.
Thank you wim and espiegel123 for your help!!!
I don't think that I wanna switch between audiobus and Aum.
Ok, no chance for Synth One then
But there is a chance that D1 could work. I'll check it out. Thnx a lot
keep on rollin....
