Exciting! Wish AUV3 would’ve been added, I’m a dreamer.
Recording quantize?
I guess I'll re-download IT and take the new update for a spin
Pass until they implement AUV3 and also UI similar to the Desktop
The scale locked keyboard is really useful, and the new themes are very welcome. I’ve always liked this app and it’s good to see an update.
At least it's got a built-in slicer now...
I do wonder how many more years (I'm guessing 2-3) we'll have to wait before Cubasis gets a derivate Cubase Sampler Track
They finally implemented the slicer?! I'm tempted to redownload it and give it a go! Just tempted though, lol. Glad to also see the multiband compressor!
Yeah, I agree. When they finally do get plugins in there it will be a big deal. "Game changer" territory for iOS DAW's.
Still only snap after
AUv3 is available through Audiobus 3. It’s a pretty cool app, I’ve heard they have a whole forum named after it
Yeah I saw. It’s really surprising how shitty this app is. I kept hearing a while back about an incoming “major GUI” update. I hope this isn’t it. Obviously the scale lock is a welcome addition and needed. But how are they going to waste time developing this super slick little “scale preview” function (when the user could easily run a finger up and down the keys), and still not a single whiff of recording quantize options? Virtually every daw, groovebox, hell even the kids toy music making apps have some sort of record quantize. Snap is worthless. Obviously they know people are playing on screen keys, do they think touch screen players have perfect time all the time? This on top of having to constantly battle with the interface to keep the screen nice and tidy and hope I don’t obscure one panel with another when all I’m trying to do is make some music. And lol at the new visual themes. Absolutely worthless and a waste of time, development time that is.
Totally disagree that this is a “shitty” app. But to each their own. Have you gone on their forum and presented your ideas? They are quite responsive.
They have not responded to Ableton Link… in about 10 years, midi Drag and Drop.. In Desktop..
Yeah you’re right lack of recording quantize just makes the entire app shitty. Snap really is worthless. I am completely unable to capture any number of off-timed notes that I’ve played and snap them into place. I don't get why all the desktop DAWs use snap for that same purpose.
From what I understand Desktop is a different group than Mobile. Response (or lack of) is a topic I hear about for many different apps and software.
One thing I see is people expecting to get a response by posting on a forum (such as this one) or on a review page (such as in the App Store) instead of going to the devs website and going to Support.
I can’t think of one time I did not get a response by doing that other than, for instance, there is a support link in Zenbeats app which is their preferred method of contact and has always led to answers for me.
Oh! Thought of one - Akai is difficult. I believe they expect you to make a phone call which, in today’s world, seems kind of archaic. 😂
To be fair FL Studio on desktop is awesome. I do apologize if a few feathers were ruffled. I just find it to be a glaring omission that, personally, slows down my workflow to a point that I’m not having fun. I was just hoping they’d remedy that, cause I really want to like the app, the instruments and fx are really good, but oh well at least I can change the colors
@LFS please give this man his sampler track 🤣
The Internet Explorer of mobile DAWs
No worries,
I'll keep on using Logic on my Mac and if/when it comes to the iPad I'll get a new iPad with enough storage to keep the full stock library (~80GB) installed
Yes, they respond to critical posters by banning them...
IL is a pita to deal with - They are one of the companies I wouldn‘t mind going belly up. ymmv
Love this app, the hate from here is always amusing too.
I don't like this app. I keep trying to like it because I love ImageLine the company. But so far I fail every time I try again.
I'd be thrilled to pieces with the slicer if it had come a few years ago. Now there are plenty of alternatives I can use without needing to play only in the FLSM walled garden. On the other hand, if it's anywhere near as good as the FL Studio Slicer or Slicex, that is definitely worth a look.
Characterize that as hate if you like. I don't. It's just a personal opinion.
FWIW, IMHO and for my needs I am no longer concerned with NS2 getting audio tracks. 😬
Oh noez, I’ve the wrong app 😱
Imagine needs to scrap this mobile version it's just bad in my opinion
Imagine needs to give use the full desktop version with AUV3
They can enable the UI to be customizable by the user
They could implement scalable plugin containers
As a paid lifetime free updates user of FL Studio since 2004 I wanted to love FLSM. I appreciate the addition of ghost notes and being able to create what is essentially Ableton style channel strips is really cool. Audio tracks and decent fingertip midi editing.
BUT… the stability. Check their forums and you will see that with every update they break people’s projects. Projects often go missing, “Cloud” (not icloud) backups rarely sync properly. The audio tracks we Nano Studio users seek create pops and clicks if you have too many (dev says this is a waveform rendering issue they are “working on”). Also don’t be fooled by Audiobus integration. It is shaky at BEST. you can get things hooked up and running but the will inexplicably come undone randomly, but especially when switching apps.
I think it is funny people have been suggesting leaving forum feedback. In a recent thread on the image-line forums asking for auv3 support they responded quite sarcastically and condescendingly about how we have IAA. They have always been a bit hostile towards their users. I remember when their website FAQ used to say “NEVER” to the Q. When will FLS come to the Mac?
FWIW, my “facts” are different than yours:
Let’s be fair.
Adding to this: it’s an ambitious multi platform project, that is explicitly not an attempt to make an iOS version of desktop software. Its designed as a VST that works inside Mac or Windows build FL studio (where each track in the mobile project has its own mixer track). The beta thread of the image-line forum has led to the implementation of many user requested features including including the scale lock keyboard and piano roll. And the spectrum, scope, stereo, loudness and pitch analyzer. And the multi and compressor, and the tuner and pitcher. The app is under constant development…
