What a beautiful piece. I wish I could play the piano like you (I’ve been playing drums my whole life) You have a new follower
Great piece Mike, you know exactly where to put it all 🙌
C'est beau, Mike !
Agreed, that's beautiful!
Thanks for the follow @zah7 i wish I could drum but my timing isn’t nearly good enough.
Thanks for the listen @Krupa @knewspeak @pbelgium. Much appreciated.
How are things in Japan @JanKun? Nice to hear from you!
Love this ... where the heck did you pull that chord at 0:18 from?? And in a dozen other places ... sounds like you've been studying reharmonisation?
If I was to be uber-picky, the articulation on the violin does stick out a little in places - maybe to do with the timing and depth of the vibrato? But that's a very minor observation, nothing more
Thank you for the praise @craftycurate … my chord selections, lol, are certainly not guided by a deep theoretical knowledge, but they are guided by my getting out of my own way. I agree about the violins… less than perfect, but the best a preset man could find.
Thanks for listening, bro!
Even more impressive
@craftycurate, yeah, I truly believe there’s a lot more music in most of us but we judge it out of existence.
Fantastic title, lovely piece.
@Svetlovska, thanks. Sometimes titles happen.
I second that heart-emoji comment.
@JudasZimmerman ❤️
"Getting out of my own way". That spoke to me. You know what I mean.
@Paulieworld, I do, indeed. Lessons hard learned.
It’s not just the chord selections though, it’s the dynamics and rubato approach to playing. What your pieces have is a life that is missing from so many pieces posted here that are programmed, and don’t have the same feel of live playing. (I’m not criticizing programmed music though - there is some amazing stuff posted here.)
Very nice progressions used in this, and it’s certainly an emotive piece.
Indeed @michael_m…. where would us old hippies be without rubato?
Indeed, lovely.
This resonates with me!
(Paul already said “spoke to me” lol)
Another winner here Mike. Missed this one first time around.
Thanks very much for listening @lukesleepwalker @CapnWillie and @Edward_Alexander. I never really know which track will hit the mark. Glad this one did.
