I just updated to the 2.5.8 version.. I skipped the previous one because it sounded like trouble.. I didn’t have any extra sounds downloaded because I had planned to move them all over to an external SSD..

I restored the IAPs in settings and everything seemed to be there.. BASSalicious 1 + 2 and the Factory Content I had previously purchased were all there.. all I had to do was download my content again..

However, as I was browsing the (new) Free Content presets, PSP would crash on me.. stand-alone + AUv3 (in AUM).. numerous times.. restarted iPad.. still crashing after choosing a few presets.. sent email, log files + video already..
Otherwise it looks to be working..

    iPad 6 15.3.1

  • Had a few crashes myself just browsing presets. iOS 15.2 iPad 9th Gen.

  • Crashy here too, while browsing presets. iPad Air 3, iOS 15.4. But amazing for free. Thanks GM!

    Same here.

  • No crashes here with 2.5.8.
Browsing and playing presets working fine.

    Dear @GospelMusicians,

Besides problem with factory presets there is another glitch as well:

    • I see preset from 3 IAPs purchased directly inside PSP2, but I do not see presets from BASSalicious 1 and BASSalicious 2 inside PSP2 as I was able to see it before. BASSalicious 2 was purchased directly from AppStore / not from PSP2. Reboot of the iPad and "refresh" in PSP2 do not help for factory and BASS 1 / BASS 2 presets. My PSP2 version is 2.5.7.

I also do not see PSP2 in AppStore, I had to download it from purchase history. Kind regards

    Dear @GospelMusicians,

Now I see PSP2 in Appstore and after update I see Factory presets again. I see also BASS1 and BASS2 presets after hit crossgrade in BASS2 app. Before it was rather my fault - I forgot to press crossgrade in BASS2 app after install PSP2. Thanks :)

  • I don’t see a crossgrade option inside the original BASSalicious 1 app so I’m not sure it’s possible.

Indeed. I’ll likely skip this update altogether. This looks to be mostly housekeeping for the dev to make way for future enhancements. I don’t see anything compelling for legacy users unless I’m missing something. I’ll wait on the enhancements and stability.

The FX section includes (free) the effects recently added as IAPs to iFX Rack. So there might be something useful there.

I didn't bought an IAP upgrade in BASS1, but it probably does not have crossbrades feature. However BASS2 contains 61 presets (Bank: A, B, C) from BASS1 and everything is visible in PSP2 after crossgrade. Besides BASS2 purchased directly from Appstore can be used separately and in PSP2 as well. On sale it can be also cheaper than BASS2 IAP in PSP2.

    @uncledave / @CapnWillie
Apart from that four mentioned effects from iFX Rack, there is one more surprise waiting for you in iFX section, please take a close look :)

Hold up so the FX rack was updated and is free.

Having crashing here as well. Played with it for about an hour and had 4-5 crashes.

I can’t see how to transfer my Bass1 presets though?

Wow after messing around with just the free sounds and synth portions, I’m kinda kicking myself for not caving and buying this sooner. This sounds excellent. Probably, imo, one of the better sounding plugins on the App Store.

    Thanks for doing this!

-This update reminds me of the thread above, and I think the intention of PSP2 being a synthesizer and not just a rompler is expressed in the free presets that have been added.
-Pure Sine Free presets disappeared. (I don't know if it is normal for them to disappear, so I am writing this just in case. I am sorry if I am mistaken). I do not know if the paid version of Pure Sine contains the same preset, so for users who like it very much or have projects that they have used, it may be safer to save it in User Presets and then export it before updating PSP2.
-I first noticed that Control has Release and EP Release. I think those are interesting features. (They may have existed before).

If you have the paid PSP, latest version 2.5.8, the old Pure Sine Factory presets are in the new Factory submenu. They have not diappeared, just relocated.

Those features have been part of PSP for a long time. If you read the manual and study the controls, you realize that PSP has a great many powerful and interesting features.

  • While browsing the Factory presets in PSP running in AUM, I noticed that PSP's memory expands until it is killed by jetsam. This causes AUM to make its circle red, and it has to be reloaded. This happened three times, with the largest memory being 79301 pages (16 KB), 1239 MiB. Seems like it does not release memory when loading a new preset. (iPad 6, iPadOS 15.4.1)

  • When running as AUv3 (in AUM or Audiobus), it seems like the popup presets menu is limited to the nominal AUv3 window size, even when the actual window has been expanded. Dragging the hash in the lower right corner cannot expand the window, as it does in stand-alone. Tapping the full screen icon in the upper left of the menu moves it to the top, but does not expand it. This applies to the waveforms menu as well. The screenshot shows the maximum size of the presets menu.

Try to tap''n'drag the bottom right corner of the preset browser...

  • so i purchased the expansion packs on the ipad version. but when i hit refresh next to each on the desktop version, nothing happens. is this function available yet, or is it still being worked on?

  • @uncledave, thanks for the correction. (I almost became a person spreading fake news on this wonderful forum). And my apologies to Gospel Musicians.

Good idea... But, as I already said "Dragging the hash in the lower right corner cannot expand the window, as it does in stand-alone". Does it work for you, in the PSP AUv3? With the current iPadOS (15.4.1)?

Just sayin', several apps allow desktop purchases to be imported to the iOS version. It's pretty unusual for the opposite to be the case.

...don't have the app installed at the moment though...

It only works in stand-alone, or IAA, I suppose. Just tested the same thing in iPad Air, with iOS 12.5.5 (latest for this device), with the same result. The presets window is locked to the default (half-screen) size for an AUv3. So it's not iOS version-dependent. It could be a recent change to PSP.

Let's tag @GospelMusicians and see if they're aware of the preset browser not scaling in AUv3 thing?

  • Don’t forget to rather send an email to the support if you want bugs to be fixed. It’s their prefered way of communicating about this, I think.

  • I’m just now seeing this thread and I was about to do an update on my ipad and apps. So is everything worked out with Pure Synth Platinum now? Will my audio unit (saved states) be there when I open up my BM3 projects, if I update? Or am I gonna have to go through each instance and find what instrument and sound I was using?

Also interested been holding off on update…

Quick question should I download all my sounds and presets before updating?

Or is it ok to have the offloaded? Will it still recognize the purchases even if they aren’t downloaded on the device at time of new app update.
