Why Does Audiolayer show 59GB size when I only have one 20GB instrument installed?

Any ideas? @VirSyn please advise

    Have you rebooted your device?

I don't know if this is related, but the OS sometimes takes a while to purge files that have been deleted. Sometimes rebooting (doing a hard reset rather than simple power cycle) seems to speed up the process of reclaiming the space. Did you throw away the folder you imported from?

  • Inflation?

    Definitely inflation.

@Littlewoodg do you still have the original file(s) in the import folder?

  • Where are they (somewhere i can delete?)

Can we get more details? Did you go iCloud, internal or external as the ’storage place’ option?

On your iOS device in the AudioLayer folder, do you see an ‘import’ folder? Are things in it?

  • The Audiolayer folder is basically empty. An import and export folder with zero in each.

Im using local iPad storage rather than cloud. I attempted the install on the piano more than once. It is about 19GB

Have you checked using AudioLayer's sample manager to see if you ended up with multiple copies of the samples -- perhaps in multiple folders? If so, delete the unused samples.

I had a similar issue on another iPad. I was getting 2-3x the storage space used And When I chose local I couldn’t access the files in an easy way.

What I did to fix it was delete the app entirely, and re-install it (I had my entire AudioLayer library backed up on an external drive) I then moved the files off the backup drive onto the iPad in the AudioLayer folder and pointed the AudioLayer app to that (local) folder, using the external drive option in the app. I was then able to get better file management on everything in the files app and delete any extras. This might not be a best practice scenario but you’ll at least get access to all the files that way and it’ll still be installed locally.

I'd look in the AudioLayer Local Sample Manager before resorting to reinstalling

Looking for duplicates as you mention above?

I’m hoping this is the fix, I’m loathe to reinstall and re-import the paino files. You helped me though that process in another thread, and it finally fell into place (and I see now how to make it work again), but it’ll be a pain in the ass to do it now, as I have now removed the file from the source app, and off the device.

Maybe there’s a way to use iMazing and do it all again that way. Or maybe iMazing will reveal where the ghostly duplicates are hiding

EDIT: now the main instruments aren’t playing at all, wtf…
