I liked this a lot. Kept me going and, as always, something happens around 1:10. Very good piano riff, too.
@LinearLineman Hey bro! I went out for an oil change this morning and stopped at Guitar Center on the way home. I bought a cute little MIDI keyboard. I set it up on the coffee table, and my wife said I looked like Schroeder. It was fun, but I think I will stick to the piano roll editor. Thanks for listening!
Another great track… reminded me of the 70s 80s when all the jazz rock bands like RTF, Mahavishnu 2, Stanley Clarke etc all had vocals on them that sounded just like this…
@GeoTony I first discovered jazz-rock fusion in college. I saw RTF with the original lineup and I was completely blown away.To even be mentioned among such talent is truly an honor. Thank you so much!
I think you invented a whole new prog rock genre. There were a few arrangers that would assemble groups like somewhat like this: Michel Columbier, Aumir Deodado come to mind.
There would be a massive roster of studio musicians required to get the music from A to Z.
Now someone like you can create these studio epics on an iPad... good times.
The piano layering deserves special mention: imagine 3 grands on stage with Keith Emerson,
Jordan Rudess and Keith Emerson all playing at the same time. Robotically synthesized through the magic of MIDI. Did you really Piano Roll this? I have so little patience but the results speak for themselves.
You mentioned Keith Emerson twice. Not many people know about that! There were actually two of them. Keith and AntiKeith. They met a few years ago and self-descructed. I heard the Carl Palmer is still under obligation to fulfill remaining gigs. The band will just be called 'Palmer'.
Have a nice day, amigo!
Fantastic track; loved the drums. I think the fade-out ending was very satisfying on this one too.
You read my ramblings! True. The second Keith was supposed to be Jarrett. I noticed the
brain fart but decided that these are robot pianists in this Disneyland Robotronic Show Band in their Rocket Roll Hall of Fame Display of future Robot Bands and who fits better with Keith Emerson but another Keith Emerson and Jordan can keep up with anybody.
Nice ELP joke.
I try not to do fade-outs unless I can't think of anything else... or I just get lazy. Due to the logarithmic nature of sound, they don't always work out so well. I think I just got lucky on this one. Thanks for listening and commenting!
Jordan Rudess is an incredible player. I just wish he would trim that beard. You know, maybe just square it off.
