PureSymphonic / Praise for PSP

I had stopped using PureSynthPlatinum for a while. But their quickly corrected snafu got me interested again. Here I use two of their excellent choirs. Module Choirs, as good as they are, cannot evoke this sound, IMO. HERE USED WITH ISymphonic and BeatHawk Double Bass.

Production wise this is my best orchestral effort, I think. The individual sections avoid the mush factor, mostly.iSymphonic’s updates have made it, finally, a pleasure to use. Lol, I still had to mix down in real time because of it… but worth it, no prob.

Shoutout to @GospelMusicians for best all round synth/virtual instrument in my book.

  • Sounds great! Very lush.

I’ve only recently gotten into PSP and Beathawk and have been enjoying them both. I haven’t gotten any of the IAPs yet though, and am not sure if I will any time soon. But maybe! What’s your thoughts on them?

  • Thanks @HotStrange. For my purposes in BeatHawk, I recommend String Ensembles, Brass Ensembles, Baroque (nylon guitar, harpsichord), Mallets and, my most used, Total Bass. For choirs I recommend Korg Module and PureSynthPlatinum.

Actually, if budget is an issue, PSP covers almost all of this stuff. ISymphonic is also excellent.

The Baroque IAP is the one I’m wanting the most right now. Seems to sound great. I do like the choirs in Module a lot but haven’t tried the ones in PSP besides the free ones with the app.

iSymphonic is on my list as well but with the Taqsim apps (and stuff like Thumbjam) I can’t decide if it’s worth it or not. Same with stuff like Fretless bass. Taqsim does all of that actually quite well.

  • Lush and powerful.

  • This would make a great soundtrack.

  • Fabulous arrangement and immersive sound @LinearLineman.

@HotStrange I quite like the characterful Upright in PSP.

  • @HotStrange, I don’t think you need iFretless Bass. BASSalicious 1 is free and has many, I think. I do recommend BeatHawk Total Bass is you do jazz as it’s the best for that.

Thanks for listening and checking in @Stochastically @PhilW.
Nice to hear from you @onkey. Hope all is well.

Thanks! I have Bassalicious 1 and it’s one of my go to apps for bass. So much so that I haven’t bought the 2nd one yet.

I’ll look into the Beathawk IAP though. I do make a sort of industrial/avant-garde type free jazz stuff.
