In the Meantime
Recently, I’ve finally found some time and a bit of a head space to create this piece for my beloved wife. Through thick and thin.

Lovely sentiment, lovely piece. Enjoyed the tune a lot. Thanks for posting.
Beautiful song. Every man should write a song for his mother, and his wife. Thank you for reminding me. I'm on it!
I'm following you now.
Lovely, indeed, and a beautiful tribute. I loved the finger snapping and the trumpet. I would only make one technical comment in the spirit of perfection. For me, the drums were not quite right on the first bridge. Maybe just a mix issue. I liked the finger snapping, tho. The brushwork seemed a bit heavy handed. What do you think?
I'd love to know which apps you used for the various instruments.
I really like you piano part and the melody added with the nylon guitar increased my interest.
I liked the brushes because it also sounded like a real player. The finger snap on beat three flipped around my sons of time but that's usually a good thing but I would have chosen a different spot to add one or more notes per bar. 3 only works for me for the high pitch if the basss drops into a double time feel.
But you do you and I'll do me.
Very nice composition and performance.
Beautifully done @zah7. I bet this made your wife smile and/or cry.
@GeoTony @Paulieworld @Stochastically @LinearLineman @McD @espiegel123 @Ben I really appreciate all the likes and comments, not to mention this forum. It is a great community. Thank you.
@LinearLineman You're probably right here. Giving it another thought, I suppose I should have introduced more ‚drive’ in the bridge just to emphasize the main motif. This way, there would be more dynamics and more crescendo-decrescendo between different parts. Sometimes, certain things come down the road though
Btw It’s 5/4 time signature which makes it even trickier.
@McD I was after a half-time beat, just to stretch the feel a bit more, making it lazier, in its own sweet time. On the other hand, I can easily hear snapping on 4 too, maybe it would fit better? A matter of taste I guess.
@Paulieworld Creating a song for my wife has been on my mind for a long time. You are right - maybe it’s high time I made a song for my mum too.
@Ben She loves it. I made her evening
@Stochastically thanks!
@McD piano - Ravenscroft275, drums - borsta, ting + a pinch of garageband , bass - ifretless, trumpet - swam trumpet, guitar - baroque pack in beathawk. A bit of moog in the bridge too.
