What is the best battery pack for camping?
I'm looking for a portable battery backup to charge my laptop battery a couple of time on camping. Also, if the battery can power small devices on 120V it would be very neat.
I have a model in mind, but maybe people here can give me better suggestion that the one I have in mind. Thank you!
Something like that for around $250

I always covet this one:

Then combine it with their solar power:

I've had good luck with Bluetti power stations. They have products of all sizes. Their portable solar panels are good as well. The two units I have are larger - for powering refrigerators, etc. overnight. But the smaller ones get good reviews as well.
They can be bought through Amazon.com
Laptop while camping? Things have changed since I used to go camping…
Indeed. The most I've ever taken is my phone, iPad, and a 13000mAh battery bank. It feels odd to me to even do that, but I do for reading material and for something to pass the time at night in the tent. I think I've only needed the battery bank once ... and that was because I used Gadget for a bit.
There was that one six hour tech support call back to the office I had to do from a pay phone at 9,943ft elevation the first summer I ever took a vacation though.
That's one reason I love bringing the OP-Z with me out in the woods, so much power, so much battery, so damn small and light.
Horses for courses though, the important thing is having fun making music in nature regardless of what tools you prefer. 👍🏼
This is the unit we have. We picked it up along with the 100w solar panel more for power outage situations than anything. The battery pack and a couple of controllers, my Focusrite Solo and my Modal Craft synth fit nicely in a beefy daypack I have for an outing in nature for the day. I wouldn’t want to hump it on the AT though.

today there are a lot of choices. I used a Goal Zero Yeti400 with a 100W panel for the last two summer seasons. With solar panels and good sun light, one can also combine different batteries. The Yeti400 often charged a couple of small power banks during the day.
What is not clear is the difference between absolute capacity and usable capacity. I believe Jackery is the only company that indicates the usable capacity. Which means, one can deplete the battery down to zero without damaging the lithium cells. Other battery packs with absolute capacity indication should be kept over 20% charge, to prevent damage and increase longetivity.
