What iOS synth is most like Vital Synth on desktop?

I’ve been really working on integrating iOS and desktop lately. I really like Vital Synth on the desktop and I am interested in people’s opinions on which iOS synths are most like Vital?

Btw, Vital is free, if you’re curious, and there are already tons of free presets out there already.

  • Depends on which of Vital's features are important to you but Drambo's Wavetable Oscillator has that kind of "spectral warping" built in (the WT OSC is a rack that you can add "Wave Effects" to which will do just that), you can import your own wavetables, you have a wide choice of filters and effects and almost endless modulation options.

Thanks, I hadn’t thought of Drambo.

    Any other ideas, folks?

It’s a tough one depending on what you like about Vital. If it’s the killer workflow, UI, and selection of effects, pretty sure there’s nothing quite like it on iOS.

The wavetable features in Drambo are really nice, I agree with rs2000. That would also be my go to personally. But the modular workflow isn’t for everyone.

Synthmaster 2 might be the closest.

Sugar Bytes Factory does wavetable things too. It’s a fun one imo.

Animoog is worth mentioning, as it makes a good use of the touch screen to do wavetable-ish things. (But the architecture is nothing like Vital.)

  • To answer your question, I think the now free MELA 2 is a good candidate. Nice and easy workflow, many effects, easy to adjust the enveloppe of each of the 4 oscillators. Give it a try!

  • @Jökulgil
Any additional candidates for iOS equivalents of Vital in the last 2 years?

My only suggestion would be Buttersynth....but not for any UI comparison...😃
