Groovebox looks like it's very well designed for house music (I hope I'm close to naming the right genre). My nephew has been making house music for decades and has a massive collection of hardware devices to create music that sounds like this.
Right on! Yeah it's definitely good for 90% of electronic music genres. It's good for coming up with some quick ideas too. My only gripe is that for larger projects I feel like it railroads me into making things that sound a bit too repetitive. I've had Groovebox for a while now and it's helped me to learn to ask a key question whenever considering new apps. Can it do jazz? If the answer's no I don't buy. Just my $0.02 lol
That's right up my alley. What apps do you have that pass this litmus test? The odds are good that I already own it but a list on this thread would be worth assembling.
When I first started playing synths, it felt like "new sound = new song." A few years later I think about how many different styles have been performed on one sound, piano. Country and funk are both played on clean electric guitars. That said, I do feel like a groove box points your music in a certain direction: music for dancing. Like the man says,
"There's joy in repetition.
There's joy in repetition
There's joy in repetition.
There's joy in repetition."
