Figure and Loopy Revisited (building songs with two devices and AirDrop)
Just watched this six-year old video on how to make longer songs with Figure and Loopy:
I checked to see whether Figure now works in slide over mode. Apparently not (unless I'm just doing it wrong, which is quite possible). But I do have Figure on my iPhone. Can I export Figure audio files with AirDrop? Yes! I don't see Loopy Pro as an option to receive that file on my iPad, but AudioShare and Audio Editor (a.k.a., Neon) can. I tried both, and both work to get audio files into Loopy Pro. With Neon in slide over view, you can even drag files directly onto a specific loop, which is fun. Anyway, I loaded one loop with Figure drums from my iPhone and another loop with Figure bass. Then I opened Moog 15 as an AUv3 in Loopy Pro and chose an arp patch. Much fun, several loops filled, quickly...
I wouldn't call this the ideal workflow, but Figure is quite well-suited to the iPhone screen (including my smaller SE1 screen). I could see doing the same thing with Thumbjam. What makes it all pretty smooth is sharing with AirDrop.
