  • Good stuff, as usual. The drums are similar to something I would do but might bring some advice. The melding with the instr is not effective, I think. Perhaps varying the volume or breaking out into more free form and then returning to the locomotion. Just a thought. I liked it.

And thanks for turning my production back into the synth wind. I’m enjoying it again and probably wouldn’t have gotten back to it yet except for your prompting. Damn life’s complexities, this is fun!
    Have a beautiful weekend.🙏😎

@LinearLineman Good advice. I am actually planning on completely rearranging this one in the next few weeks. It will incorporate 'vocals' from popular cartoon shows in a scat singing format. Per your suggestion, I will include some crazy-ass Muppet Show drums. I know exactly where they will go. It will be called 'Scooby Doo', named after Joey's favorite character.

I'm diggin' your latest stuff. Glad to be of assistance. You have a blessed weekend, too!

  • Very cool track, looking forward to the upcoming version! I agree that the drumming probably need some breaks or fills or something, but then again the consistency has its own hypnotic effect.

I tend to agree with you and Mike about the drums. I think the sax part is my favorite bit, and the rest of the track was just to support that. The new arrangement is absolutely ludicrous, and definitely not to be taken seriously. Then again, none of my 'music' is serious. Thanks for listening!

I agree with that. I just described one of @LinearLineman 's as frenetic but I think that's a good description of most of your output. (in the good sense)

  • This is an "E Ticket" Rollercoaster with no line to ride. The tempo is manic but thrilling and you always keep the groove tight and compelling.

The guitar solos+comping and the Jan Hammer-ish synth are standouts for me.

The drummer is working for me... I just let it register for the time reference and focus
on the new creative instruments that step up to the mic for their turn. Very eclectic jam session with players from different genres and generations.

You keep mixing up engaging combinations using your chef's instincts. It works for me but I'll take an update too.

That's a compliment in every sense of the word. Thank you very much for that!

The drums (actually just a hi-hat and snare) were really just for timing. I came up with the sax part separately, and the rest of it was just to give it something to ride on. I was trying a few things with 4Pockets Lyricist and thought it might be fun to do a scat singing thing. Since I already had this Brighto track, I decided I would use that for the base. I think it will be amusing, if nothing else. Thanks for the input, and for listening.

The sax is really good, and the track is very relistenable. I just imagine the drummer sweating profusely, with crazy eyes, chewing gum!

  • That answers a question I had asked myself - should I keep the sax part? There will definitely be a crazy drummer in the new arrangement, as well as some loony tunes characters singing like Mel and Ella. It will be a few weeks, but I hope you will enjoy it. Thanks!

  • Which app do you use for brushes???? Sounds AWESOME :)

I wager $10 that it's one of the Session Band Jazz apps. You can isolate or bundle various
instruments from the rhythm section (piano, bass, drums, guitar, optional soloist). I own them all and could check but no one will take the bet and @Paulieworld has insider knowledge.

I hope this is not a disappointment, but I think I just used one of the stock Cubasis drum kits. I am very happy that you enjoyed it. Thank you so much!

I believe the sax MIDI was from a free app called Stravinsky. I am pretty sure I used Sensual Sax from Embertone to render it. The unison part was probably Jubal Flute. Embertone makes some great stuff. However, @LinearLineman knocked me out with his old buddy Charlie.

  • That's intense, cool! :)

I am planning to do a complete revamp of this in the near future. It will be called 'Scooby Doo' for reasons that will become apparent. Thank you for listening and your kind comments!

  • Quite a refreshing track, a great listen!
I also like how the sax melody remains quite listenable instead of freaking out for no good reason like on some other Jazz tracks 😉

Thank you. I also thought the sax part was nice. I probably would have freaked out more, but I'm not that talented. I'm a simple guy. Just ask my wife! Thank you for taking time to listen. It's a few minutes of your life that you will not get back and I appreciate that you spent it with me. Have a great day!
