86 FREE Presets for IceGear’s Laplace synth by Spidericemidas

A selection of mostly plucked, percussive and stringy/twangy offerings for Laplace.
The nature of Laplace makes these presets lean mainly towards an Asian instruments type sound collection.
I’ll put a link in this thread to my other Laplace thread which has a few demonstrations on YouTube of some of these presets working together.

  • At long last! 😎

Thank you very much. On it.

Damn, purchased 😉 No pads, tho?

Have you listened to the new BeatHawk ARP pack demo? It sucks but I love ARP presets so will get it.

  • High quality as always @Spidericemidas. Thought I heard a couple of percussion sounds in there. Thanks for your generosity.

Only a few pad type presets in this bank. Laplace doesn’t really have the sound sources or architecture for the usual smooth evolving and modulated pads I like to make. It’s designed really to focus on the plucked and percussive area of sound design. Resonant and metallic. Rather like the sounds that come out of the Mutable Instruments Plaits Eurorack module (replicated in miRack and known as the Macro Oscillator II).

  • Got them. Sound great. Liked the XFiles Cloud Hands emulation. You were obviously in an Asian frame of mind. We’ll see if I use them like that. Thanks for your ongoing work, bro!👍👍👍

Yeah the sound and style of Laplace definitely leans towards plucked Asian instrument type sounds, so the presets names just had to reflect that vibe!

Although, truth be told, I am always in an Asian frame of mind anyway! Currently really enjoying watching, researching and reading “Xiyouji” (Journey to the West) hence you’ll spot a lot of references to that among these presets names.
I am sometimes given to wearing traditional Chinese clothing too! 😊🙏

    @Spidericemidas
Dude you make Laplace do what it is supposed to do. Or what it wanted to do all along.
    Thanks for the riches. Again.

  • Cloud hands… you do tai chi?

Hehe. Well spotted. Yes. And in a traditional outfit. There are a few other moves hidden in there too. 😉🙏

  • I’d like to see a pic of that. Do you push hands?

    Thanks! 👍
I personally really like these types of sounds, which is why I love using the Plaits module so much in miRack.
I’ve sent this bank to Satoshi. Hopefully he will dig it. 🤞

    Wonderful as always. Thank you.

Thanks! The percussive ones are quite plain themselves but I like hooking them up to a sequencer and applying a delay to create dynamic arps and patterns with them. They come alive when you sync a delay and add a touch of reverb.

  • These are wonderful! Thanks so much @Spidericemidas

Cool! I like the way IceGear synths are geared towards certain types of sound designs. Laplace is especially perfect for stringy/twangy percussive and resonant plucks with an eastern flavour.

  • Loving these presets thanks. Running them through the BLEASS slow machine and resampling leads to some cool sounds. Kind of Gold Panda-esque

  • Damn fine cherry pie these 🙌

That sounds like a very cool and interesting exercise. I love slowing down and messing with stuff in Gauss, but I don’t have the BLEASS slow machine, and I believe it works in rather different ways. Might have to check it out at some point. Gonna have to Google Gold Panda now....

Thanks! I think I’ve put a bank in all the IceGear synths now. Who’s next? Not sure yet. @onkey ‘s work in AddStation was excellent and has inspired me to have another go with it. Maybe Cube Synth Pro but I don’t own it yet...

  • Would love to see what you could do with Synthmaster 2... :)

  • You're so generous, thank you very much!

What a beast SM2 is! What’s the bank sharing facilty like in that one? If it’s a nice easy method, I’d like to try something for it.
