Power recorder and other gear with powerbank, short circuit?
hello forum, I have an off topic question.
I have made this portable recording studio for guitar, in a case. When I power the two Zoom devices with the same powerbank, the recorder shuts off. Sometimes the Zoom EFX pedal reboots. The Zoom EFX pedal is connected to the Zoom recorder. the Quint pedal is also connected to the recorder on a second input. The Quint pedal behaves normal. The SD-1 pedal is battery powered
I think because the Zoom EFX pedal is connected to the recorder with a guitar cable, and both are powered by the same source, there is a short circuit or ground loop?
When I power the Zoom recorder with batteries and the EFX pedal with the powerbank, everything works fine.
Can someone with some electronic knowledge confirm my theory? And I am wondering, if I power the Zoom recorder with a second power bank, will there be a short circuit too, because the connection of devices with guitar cables? I only have one powerbank so I can not test this by myself at the moment.

Yes you are creating a ground loop by connecting both zooms to the same battery.
If the recorder worked you would have a nasty ground loop hum in your recording.
Using a separate powerbank will work.
Okay, thanks, I will try a second powerbank, because the Zoom R8 eats normal batteries. And rechargeable batteries are a pain to use, will only last for aprox. 5 hours. I have some space left in my case for a second powerbank.
And to bring it on topic, I record a 3-4 minutes audio stream from my Ipad, like Ibassist synced with a Lumbeat drummer, or some Session band sequence, and then I start recording guitar and sometimes bass lines too (with the Quint Machine pedal).
I could ditch the G1Xfour, because the R8 has guitar build in EFX too, but the interface is not as friendly as the G1Xfour.
I have to admit the Ipad with a Nembrini amp sim, or Overloud rigs sounds way better, but using a hardware recorder is a nice break from a screen.
