Performance issue - M1 iPad Pro with Cubasis 3 and GeoShred
I’m recording GeoShread’s sax into Cubasis on a 2021 M1 iPad Pro. Playing this part in live, it sounds fine, but on playback notes are miss timed, and seem to drag. I wondered if I had auto quantising on, but it’s not that. There are just 2 instances of SynthMaster Player and one Microsonic playing with the sax. CPU is 3% and DSP about 20%.
Any ideas?

Have you tried switching off and on multi-core processing?
I haven’t but I will, thank you.
Try audio only, not MIDI.
I’ve tried switching multi-core on and off and the various settings for multi-core. I’ve also rendered all the “backing tracks” to one audio file and tried recording the sax over that. Both sound great when playing the sax in live, but the recordings are total garbage! Weird. @LFS
This was my thought. I suspect Cubasis is incapable of recording and playing back the MPE data accurately enough. MIDI Tape Recorder might be an solution for this ... I don't know.
Well, I found a solution. Same “backing track” and same GeoShred sax in GarageBand- worked first time, perfectly. So there’s a workaround. I mean, I really want to love Cubasis, and it has so much going for it…when it works.
Because, then I thought, well it’s a new day, let’s try exactly the same thing again back in Cubasis. And it worked. Must prefer handling MPE on weekends 😂
