Ravenscroft 275 volume in AUM

Hi all, love this app but recently discovered a flaw that I hope you can help me with. Started using AUM for live performance recently and when I load Ravenscroft I noticed that the apps main volume defaults to about 80% or so which clips the meters in AUM and introduces some distortion. I tried creating a preset in Ravenscroft but the master volume is not saved in the preset and it just defaults back to the higher volume. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

  • How about using an AUM project with a preset volume level for Ravenscroft? I haven’t tested it to see if the volume settings get saved. There’s a “GAIN” object in the AUM Dynamics list that might also come up with accurate settings.

  • Unfortunately, I don’t think there is a proper solution. The volume knob value isn’t saved in the preset.
As a workaround, you can try to have AUM send a CC7 value to lower the volume (I haven’t tested).

use aum's fader to set the volume. it is saved in the session. you could also add one of AUM's gain nodes

This will not prevent the sound to clip I think because the clipping already occurs in Ravenscroft.

It looks like velocity mapping is saved in presets. Maybe try adjusting that? I only get redlining in Ravenscroft when playing very hard. Maybe adjusting the velocity curve will help.
