We’ve been trying to goat Jim over @ Five12 into making an iOS version of Numerology for YEARS now. It’s mac only and he seems semi interested, but ever since he started Vector development, Numerology has sort of stalled.
Honestly Drambo is 90% of the way there already. Especially due to its “modular” nature. A few small tweaks (or user options if you prefer) and it’s there. Its quite amazing TBH. I can totally use it to great effect the way it is now. I’m not complaining.
The “pricing” is a debate for another thread. But I sincerely believe its the reason we’ll never see certain things in iOS.
Cool!
Just one question regarding the "pitch bars" over sequencer steps: Would you really wand to adjust pitch that way?
The thing is they do invest the same amount of time
except it's using code and they deliver more for less.
I respect that.
Yes, I would and I do with other apps/hardware. You would still need to activate the step (gate on button), then adjust the pitch via the slider (or knob, on some sequencers). Its a common way of doing it w/ step sequencers tbh. Even the new MPC series works in that fashion (with the touchscreen). Its not radically different than what’s happening already in Drambo, you’d just be able to scroll thru the notes faster. But again, Drambo is awesome and I’m just nitpicking and having some first world problems. I’ll survive. 😂
BTW @Apex, you know this mode?
This will let you have both: Original note pitch on sequencer steps and additional pitch modification via automation bars which could even have their own grid division.
I was reading Cirklon's manual the other day and outside of true polymeters/polyrhythms and maybe a few other small things, Drambo is probably the most flexible step sequencer out there.
Agreed.
The polyrhythms could be done also except it needs some thinking about.
I’m already thinking about the Pitches on slider thing.
I have something similar happening on my Sage series pieces
except I’m using a Knob module.
The “melody” is a knob (that is mapped to a midi controller)
that goes into a CV quantiser scaled to 0.125
with a Pitch module on the end to select octave before
it goes to the instrument/sampler that I’m using.
Very useful for single shot chord samples.
Here’s a screenshot.
Anyone know if the Drambo iCloud samples folder works yet?
Have you looked at StepBud? It can be used in Drambo.
MidiDREAMs is also excellent.
Is it possible to have more than 16 tracks in Drambo sequencer.
I have created more than 16 slices, but dunno how sequence the slices above the 16.
You can do all inside the same track by using the keyboard to trigger slices.
Please… how do you send ‘Program Change’ MIDI Messages (in Drambo) to change patterns in GrooveRider 16?
Seems this is the ultimate Drum Maschine for Drambo..
Thanks..

• AUv3 version currently does not support neither Song Mode nor Chain Mode. However, you can use Program Change midi messages in your host app or DAW to switch patterns of GR-16_
You can use the PC Generator module.
Either keep the signal input disconnected, adjust the PC number manually and hit "Send" or connect a voltage between 0..127 to it to send the respective Program Change numbers as soon as the next number is reached.
Thanks, worked like a charm… so much you can do in GR 16… Amazing stuff.
Thanks..
Sorry I wasn’t clear, I mean the console slice not sample slices.
To sum up I have 18 tracks, and dunno how to sequence the two last.
I believe it’s but a drawing bug.
The tracks above 16 are sequensable but not listed.
Don’t you think it looks like a bug or did I miss understand something
Indeed @Jeezs, handling more tracks is something that would have to be dealt with in a better way.
Somewhat of a longtime forum lurker and occasional poster here but gotta say, I totally missed the Drambo 2 update and it’s amazing. This is really one of the best apps out there. Almost everything I think of, it can do. The only thing I’d really love to see is stem export. Any hints from the developer as to this being on the radar? I can definitely start some good ideas off in this thing but I’d love to be able to just do a multi-track export and hand off to Live or Reason.
Currently the only way to export stems is to record them. Each track has a 'tape icon' and enabling that will make sure it gets it's own file when recording stems using the 'tape icon' on the top bar. (ie. tap the tape on the top bar to enable recording, it will keep on recording as long as the transport is running).
Totally missed that! That’s still pretty awesome tbh. So I could record an entire performance, with clip launching, scene morphing, performance fx etc. and get a multi-track out of it to take into a full DAW? That’s amazing. Thanks so much.
Yes, and everything you do will be recorded on each track separately on the tracks activated for stem recording.
Feature request..
Tip Jar.. it deserves it..
Really do..
Thanks..
Edit.. Genius..❤️
Coming soon 😊
I don’t think there is - but any way to resize a floating AU window back to default size? I’ve managed to move a window too high on screen so that I can’t grab the top bar in order to move.
You can move it from the bottom bar too.
(Which is probably how you managed to move it up too high in the first place. )
Thanks! Thought I tried that but guess not..
@Apex
Here’s an example of pitch on faders.
I put together an 8 step version yesterday which can be easily extrapolated out to 16 steps or even 32.
Wow, cool sounds too @Gravitas.
Thank you.
