@tpj - I'm interested to understand why using AUv3 parameters are preferable over direct CC control for you.

NS2, for example, does not send cc.

  • That's what I assume is the reason, but wondering if there are others.

I would say the resolution of MIDI CC vs AU param can be another, which can be relevant in certain cases (the typical one is stepping artifact when automating filter cutoff). Also, convenience: you can't just move a knob and have its automation recorded in, say, Cubasis, when using Drambo as AU.

  • What's the easiest way to copy a sequence from one project to another? I haven't been able to figure it out.

  • Add a drambo as an auv3.

Drag and drop pattern from clip launcher host to the auv3 version.

    Save.

    Then open the auv3

    and copy back.

So open Drambo as a host to Drambo itself? Cause I want to get it from a HOST project into a AU project within AUM.

Not sure about Drambo to Aum.

Thought midi tape recorder could maybe copy midi, like lk?

Yes, that works very well as a simple MIDI recording and playback device.

Now that you've mentioned it, I think that it might make sense to be able to copy/paste sequences between different projects.
Currently, that's only possible for modules.
Worth a new feature request I believe 😉

Would a Drambo keyboard mode which is various speed rolls ( like drum computer ) be micro timing for drums like beat scholar?

  • @sigma79 Drambo now does support more tracks. Have you tried again recently?

Dunno what you mean by speed rolls vs micro timing... A Remix function like in Drum Computer?

I noticed you can scroll tracks now. Good if you have an ipad pro. Think I will keep the dual ipad setup but I made a Faderfox pc12 mapping so its like a mixer but more tracks should be better than a mixer. May have to see if theres a synth that will be a decent permanant mapping for pc12 now. I guess I dont need a billion tracks but might be an ipad upgrade if I can ever afford ( still keeping the dual setup ) and obviously the old ipad warrents its keep in dual format. Where as the ipad upgrade might be for the synth side but lets not get hasty.

Its cool rs2000. Will map some drums via controller and make a song now, I guess.

    Nice.

    Whats absolute takeover cc

    Auto select track ?

Is there a way to only make cc mappings work, when only track is selected?

Where are you seeing "absolute takeover cc"? It may just mean the normal situation, where the CC value determines the control value over its full range.

“Takeover mode (absolute CC)” is under settings.

Right. To answer the question, Takeover mode means that a CC does not affect the mapped control until the CC value crosses the current control value. You need to turn the CC controller until you pick up the current value. This avoids having the control value jump when you first move the CC contoller. It only applies to CCs mapped as absolute, since incremental CCs are always in sync.

  • Now you map trigger to pads instead of tracks.

    Theres more tracks now.

How would you map via midi?

    15 drum tracks it is.

  • Ok first time MAJOR ISSUE. Saved song is not opening on iphone and ipad, instant crash. Worked totally fine 2 weeks ago. Files saved few minutes after that one open well. It contains samples, file size about 25 mb, saved in icloud. What could be done?

Check to see if a crash report was generated.
Send the problematic file and the crash report to info(@)Beepstreet.com
describing in as much detail as possible what occurred.
I had something similar recently so the dev could very well be working on a fix.

  • Thank you Gravitas.

    No problem.

  • Wow the support is heroic, man fixed the file in 30 min, said there will be a patch in the next release. How cool is that

Is there a way to launch auv3 when you choose track?

You got an x button to close auv3 and an overlay.

Hope so but dosent seem so.

I have to close auv3. Choose track. Then launch auv3.

Setup for my drums would be better to just launch auv3 when I choose track.

Sitting on a stool is annoying and having to navigate a screen.

I’ve been having a hard time trying to recreate a simple CV Glide example patch from Ben’s third Drambo tutorial, “Connections and Modulation and some fun stuff”. It’s at around 14 minutes.

I think this vid was made using version 1, cause my modules don’t look identical. So I did what I thought was identical to his steps. When that didn’t work I just tried logic and trial and error. Best I’m getting is a non glide with a click after the release. When I follow his method, I’m getting no sound at all.

  • Regarding the wiki page, I found CV Glide in the modules list, but nothing happens when I click on it.

  • I start from scratch and simple just to hear what CV Glide does. It’s evident that it’s basic use if for legato/portmanteau. I’m just failing to use two glides with two oscillators with the maximum math module to create that Dolby detuned attack us a later to tuned thing.
