Looking for an auv3 drum break loop slicer/player, similar to korg gadget's stockholm.
Hello, one of my favorite things about korg gadget is the stockholm gadget, which allows you to play funk drum break loops and also to change the patterns and make jungle/DnB style rhythms. I have now switched to using Cubasis 3 and I'm wondering if there is an auv3 I can use for a similar functionality? What are some recommendations?
I'm looking for something that can easily import drum loops from the files app, autoslice to transients and that can be triggered by midi from the cubasis piano roll.

I don't think those do quite what I want.... I just spent a couple of hours looking around and I think ReSlice by VirSyn, Egoist by Sugarbytes and Drambo's flexisampler are the kind of thing I'm looking for, but still not sure which one is the more suited for making jungle drum loops ala Stockholm gadget, but as an auv3 inside cubasis.

Egoist is a great call. That thing can do a lot that Koala can't.
What about sEgments ? It should do the job I think.
I believe Segments will do it. Slices and outputs a midi file of the transient detection IIRC. If you also have EG Pulse you can export the slices and midi file directly to it. At least this is my memory of it.
The other program I believe does it is Auditor. Theres a tutorial on YT.
I think Koala slices and distributes the slices to the pads but I dont think it generates a MIDI file of the transients.
If the good folx over at stein* could get their thumb out from where the sun don’t shine and bring overthe Cubase Sampler Teack over to Cubasis this ’problem’ would no even exist
Or maybe Sound Weaver? It‘s limited to 8 slices but has a build-in sequencer.
Strom by Jakob Penca is another slicer app, up to 128 slices and midi.
Neon Audio Editor is worth a look as well.
sEGments does not output a midi file, but you’re right about everything else, including exporting the slices to EG Pulse

Segments is definitely the way to go, I use it for hacking up and resequencing breaks a lot in drambo, it's easier than you might think as well, you could watch any number of different tutorials about break chopping and apply them directly to working with segments, once it clicks you'll be smashing out the breakbeats in no time.
@symianbeatz If you’re sequencing with drambo, what makes sEGments better than drmabo’s own flexi sampler? i haven’t used sEGments and i’ve barely used the flexi sampler myself.
Better more controllable time stretch and per slice pitch, effects etc.. there's a lot segments can do that Flexi sampler just can't compete with, especially for jungle/dnb type stuff..

The king for sampling and slicing remain BeatMaker 3, no other app can compete with it on iOS.
This is the Auditor demo I was talking about with the transient/MIDI export. This is the feature that makes it closest to a Stockholm/Rex player that I have found (as well as being just a great audio editor). BM3 probably does it as well

Can segments change preset (sample and slice positions) with midi cc from the piano roll?
I don't know that one fella, not something I've tried or will try to be honest, I just run multiple instances if I want to layer up breaks or change samples halfway through a track..
yeah I was thinking about that, I'm trying to choose between segments and egoist now. I like that egoist has a sequencer and song mode, so I could use a single instance to sequence multiple breaks and don't even need to fiddle with the piano roll and midi; but segments is cheaper and simpler, I just don't know how much control I can have of segments using the piano roll....
Yeah I already own looperator and it's amazing, I'm looking to pair it with a deeper sample slicer like egoist or segments to chop up breakbeats and then add sequenced effects on top with looperator.

Egoist is one of my favorite apps on the App Store. Can’t recommend it enough. I have Segments as well and I still haven’t really gotten along with it yet. I think Egoist would be great for DnB/Jungle though. A lot of the presets cater to those sounds.
Lol I asked myself the same question earlier when I did the same, I don't think you can.
Re. egoist though it's something I've toyed with on desktop but never really gelled with, maybe I should give it another crack, I know you can get some cracking results with it though, I've heard some great amen edits that were done with it on tubediggas mpc channel..
