Any auv3 sequencer like ableton

I would like to build up patterns to drive some internal synths in aum and my external synth: is there any ableton-like sequencer that can let me build patterns and trigger them on the fly via an external controller? Thanks

Comments

  • I know LK and Zenbeats both have pattern/clip launching capabilities. Might be work looking into.

    LK by Imaginando

  • LK and also Drambo.

    +1 for sure

  • Also Atom2 in AUM, but it's a little convoluted (but also more flexible) than Drambo/LK.

  • Atom 2 is ok but definitely not as flexible as LK or Drambo. It doesn't have follow actions or midi cc support, both of which Drambo and LK do.

  • All roads lead to Drambo!

I know the first rollout of APR 2 didn't handle CC’s and I haven’t learned how to use it yet but the Atom PR 2 manual says it handles midi CC:
    Recording MIDI & CC Automation:

Atom2 will accurately record performances from your MIDI controller or the output generated by other apps and plugins (such as other MIDI FX). All recordings are sample accurate and include all MIDI CC and automation data.

To start recording, simply route the source of your MIDI (either controller or plugin) into any Atom2 clip and then enable recording in that clip.

Funnily enough I can’t find the manual online anymore. I found it somewhere and saved it a couple of months ago.

  • I believe the closest is Zenbeats, midi and audio clips,
LK is great if you want to use it in AUM, just midi, it’s got great automation and it’s very flexible.

It captures and outputs midi cc data but you can't edit, create, or see it, so not of much use imo. With Drambo and LK, you can draw automation curves. You can also just use the clips for automation and no notes at all which I do all the time.

Such an unfortunate missing feature. It seems so advanced in so many other respects. I hope he is still actively developing the app.
