Pretty much all synth-driven genres of music from the 80s onward wouldn't exist without Dave Smith! When I produce EDM/Trance/House/Synthwave/Pop music, I mostly program the notes on a grid and sometimes play them in "live", also a form of programming. This is thanks to Dave Smith!
