Imaginando VS, FAC Drumkit and TouchOSC are on patch storage
I uploaded two patches for TouchOSC, let’s keep them coming
Comments
Yes, where are all of those talented shader coders? We need materials for VS please! Let’s see what you’ve got!
Octograms is an octagram shaped shader I imported from ShaderToy.com. Please read the instructions about the need to rename the file type from Octagrams.frag.txt to Octagrams.frag. It will look okay in the Files app, but it needs to be renamed using AudioShare. I don’t believe the Files app allows you to change a file’s extension, but AudioShare does.
Hopefully the VS patch storage will be modified in the future so it doesn’t automatically add a .txt extension.
The first person to upload a FAC Drumkit or create a video showing the process to make one wins an honored place in ABF History.
I can’t get them to work on the iPad, but strangely enough, they work perfectly on the desktop version of VS. any clues?
Did you remove the .txt extension? You will need to do it in Documents or AudioShare since Files app doesn’t let you.
I did. Used the AudioShare method.
I posted on the VS thread but I’ll post this zip file here of ones I converted as well since patchstorage is doing the txt extension for some reason. As I said on my other post, you may want to edit the parameter names cos I named stuff randomly
Import into VS on iPad

Hey @Paulinko could you post yours like @Fingolfinzz did his? (Shared here in the zip file he posted above)
I’m loading his no problem, but for whatever reason, can’t get yours to do anything. When I click on the “down arrow” and select the file (after renaming it, effectively removing the .text extension) nothing happens.
I do understand the import process.
Here’s a zip of the two frag files I posted to patch storage. Please let me know if they work for you.
Bingo! Works perfectly!
Thanks for doing that.
Now we’ve just got to figure out what’s wrong with the patch storage method.
Thank you for letting me know. I posted a message for the developer in the main VS thread. So hopefully he’ll be able to get them to work appropriately without adding .txt at the end of the file name. I’ve been able to download and rename the frag files using Safari and import them into VS including one I didn’t post. It’s a real mystery as to why it won’t work for you 🤷🏼♂️. I may try posting zip files of groups of frag files that are similar on patch storage.
Sweet been waiting for FAC to get the ok!
I had no problem loading frag files downloaded from patchstorage. I didn’t even have to rename them. Maybe it’s because I tapped and held the download link until a menu appeared and then selected the download file option instead of just tapping the download link.
I’ve completely forgotten how to import a set of patches into FAC Drum Kit for iOS. Any quick pointers?
Aargh. Can someone post a quick video of how to load these? I’m not even getting the same file screens as everyone else.
This is what I see:
I click on the download icon, I get this:
… and then what? VS doesn’t come up as a destination I can Share to, and if I move a .frag file to the VS folder On My Ipad - it doesn’t show up.What am I doing wrong?
@Svetlovska
Here’s a couple of screen shots that should help. Long press one of the boxes where you would load a shader and click the materials option

And then go to the user materials tab and you’ll see that download arrow on the right hand side next to close and then you’ll be able to pick files from there
@Fingolfinzzz : thank you. This is progress. I can now get to the screens you show, and get the right download dialog. (Definitely an RTFM moment)
Unfortunately after I click on that dialog: nothing. The materials still aren’t appearing. I’m still doing something wrong, obvs…
Long press on the presets bar, a menu will appear.
That worked… but then the patches did not remain in the app afterward. Hmm.
I’m not sure at all, but maybe it only works in the AU? Are you in standalone?
Are you saying that materials don’t appear after you click OK on that import material as dialog? Did you try the ones from patchstorage? I’m asking because a file with a name like in your screenshot is not on patchstorage and I successfully imported the ones from there
BTW I added another TouchOSC patch trying to emulate Mackie Control. Maybe someone finds it useful: https://patchstorage.com/mackie-control/

No, that was using it as an AU in GarageBand.
Seems to work fine in AUM here..
@branis: ok, that seems to have worked! Excellent…
Fred shared this on Patchstorage. He has 3 kits up now.
That does not work. Those grayed out .zip files cannot be selected.

And by the way, “Import User Presets” is not among the options.
I like the sounds I’ve previously gotten with Drumkit, but to be blunt the file handling story with the app is a real mess and it should be completely re-engineered with users in mind. Importing and exporting files needs to be clear and simple.
Is it doing that for all of them? These were ones I converted cos I don’t know how to actually code shaders and sometimes the material won’t show up in the preview but will once you click on them. Sometimes exiting and reopening may help. Hopefully it’s just something like that
