your favorite EP emu?
I have most of the EP apps out there- NeoSoul keys, Korg Module Scarabee, Electric, House Mark 1, but my favorite hands down is IK Multimedia iElectric. I don't think it will ever be upgraded to AUV3 format, but to my ears it still offers the most authentic sounds, especially the Wurlys.

That is interesting, for me, as a guitar player. I don´t have a good ear for electric piano´s, they all sound the same to me, more or less. I like House Mark 1.
I don't have good ears for EP either, but VTines satisfies my needs in a relatively small package, so I go with that
One thing I love about this forum is I'm always learning about apps I didn't know about. I've used the Windows version of Vtines but didn't know there was an iOS version. I'll check it out.
For the lack of a Wurly app that I liked, I've sampled one myself about 2 years ago:

I've also made a Rhodes mk2 with different presets:

Interesting. Are these soundfont files?
Looking at these Nanostudio packages I can see that they meet the criteria for a good AudioLayer import:
The samples are in a folder in wave format.
The samples are named with note.
So, I will import them into AudioLayer as well as Nanostudio 2. Hopefully they don't require
too much rework. I'm not sure if AudioLayer will layer the 2 samples for velocity range or layer them both across the whole range of velocities.
Was the Nanostudio intention a round robin import or velocity zones.
This also means that huge download of orchestral sounds might also be a good candidate for AudioLayer testing. But the AudioLayer orchestra SFZ's are pretty good... still when you want to find the ideal Cello it's good to have choices.
On the original question: Crudebytes "Colossus Piano" (which is a free download framework) has an IAP EP package that's really nice and it's complete on all the various EP hardware including Clavs and the Roland E-Piano. Cost? $20.
My go to EP is VTines since it has a great light on resources to sound quality ratio. My other EP is Neo-Soul Keys. It is one the best on all platforms!
Good info
Neo Soul Keys…iPhone only version.
Probably discontinued but it has amazing sounds that are hard to get out of the new version.
I'm seeing acoustic piano add-ons but not the EP on the App store.

cheers
@LeesKeys download the free Colossus app and you’ll get all demos plus the EPs. I generally use HouseMark1 and NeoSoulKeys. I’d consider Vtines on sale.
Thanks, found it
Can recommend NS2.
But make sure you have enough space to accommodate Neo Soul Keys 2.
House MKII in comparison is tiny (just saying)
I have NSK2 and like it very much, although some hiss noise appears when repeating chords with the sustain pedal depressed (I don’t know why but think release samples are stacked, adding the noise).
I like also very much Electric Vintage.
I don’t like House Mark I and rate it as the worst on iOS.
Neo-Soul keys studio has had very positive reviews from my keyboard playing band mates recently.
I personally don’t like the ielectric ones much as they lack the mechanical sounds of Neo-Soul.
I made a purely synthetic quasi Wurli patch in Drambo if you wanted to add it to your collection

I guess it's a to each his own kind of thing. I still think iEectric is up there towards the top. I've tried Vtines and Colossus. Colossus does have an excellent Wurly emulation which is very similar to the original instrument. It sounds a little dry but nothing that add-on reverb or delay effects can't remedy.
What is your take on VTines?
I like the Rhodes emulations- better than I like the Colossus Rhodes presets. Honestly, if I could return any purchases over the past 24 hours it would be the Colossus EP presets- but that's just my take on it. As an aside, I find it interesting that even though iSymphonic and Colossus are both Crudebyte apps, I have a definite preference for the acoustic piano offered through iSymphonic over the Colossus AP's I've tried.
The App Store page lists all the available IAP products at the end after using the "More" link in the description:
In-App Purchases
1. Colossus Concert Grand $49.99
2. Japanese Grand $12.99
3. Colossus E-Piano Set $19.99
4. Classic B Grand $15.99
5. Upright Piano $19.99
6. Baby Grand Piano $26.99
7. Pianino $12.99
8. Vintage Upright $9.99
9. Historic S Grand $9.99
You purchase IAP's from the STORE presented in the downloadable free Colossus Framework app. NOTE: Downloads of the IAP's can take hours and if the download fails it restarts. The 12GB Concert Grand is the largest... I've bought about 22GB's worth of these IAP's. This app forced me to really invest in iPhone and iPad storage space to keep the keyboards handy.
There are comparable pianos and EP as one off products. The Salamander SF2 pianos in any SoundFont player is still the best deal and there are many good EP's available as SF2's and
except for the sound font player everything is free.
@McD everything is now on your new 2T now, no?
Yes. I wanted a new iPad that has enough storage so I never have to think about storage again. I've consumed about 200GB with all my purchases to date and I'm looking to load up all my samplers: AudioLayer, Decent Samper, SF2 players with more sounds.
I'll tell you that this M1 chip makes a lot of resource problems go away. My AUM sessions are epic without hitting any resource problems. Look for the M1 model that meets your budget when upgrading hardware. Now I hear mention of possible M2 hardware on the horizon so we're entering a new era. I expect the re-branding of iPadOS will take the path of declaring some apps are only downloadable for iPadOS hardware. That's when we might see some desktop apps ported over since they won't have to support the iPads that are under powered and deal with support headaches.
