Sad accident with happy ending!
Welp…accidentally sat on my trusty 10.5” iPad pro. Killed it dead. Shattered screen and bent frame…totally unusable. It put me out of action for the past 3 or so months. But, today I just purchased/recieved my brand spankin’ new 11” iPad Pro 1tb!!! I’m beyond excited about it! The wife cosigned me buying it. The catch was that she wanted a new couch for the den! I was like, “heck yeah!”
I’m gonna be chillin’ on the new couch rocking out on the rig! Can’t wait to get all my apps and samples loaded! As fate would have it…it showed up right as i was getting ready for my gig tonight!😩. Let’s goooo!!!

Congrats and enjoy both the new iPad and the new couch!
Congratulations mate, I found the M1 iPad a nice step up from the 2018 even so I imagine you’ll love it.
Hope you can return that unnecessary couch for a full refund though!
Mate, I've accidentally crushed so many things under my bum in my life that I could open a pay-to-view website. 😂 So I feel your pain. Maybe this was the kick in the arse needed to upgrade your iPad Pro. 🤣 Having to replace a valuable item though must be a pain in the butt- yeah okay fine I'll stop the lame puns and keep my day job. 😆
But I'm glad for two things: you didn't sit on an animal, and you not only got a new Pro but a new couch to enjoy it on as well. A win-win situation!
So how've you been doing overall mate?
Congratulations on such a wonderful upgrade. Do post a pic of you enjoying both acquisitions.
I have slept on top of my iPadPro10.5 four to six times. There is a causal relationship with the charging location because those always occurred when there was a problem with my charging cable. (Recently, the brightness of the long and thin area on the right side of my iPad screen changed slightly, but no problem in using it.)
May your new iPad live long. May all kiss-my-axx type tragedies disappear from the world.
Been doing well brother! Haven’t posted in a long time due to being depressed about killing my iPad. I didn’t realize how much of a part of my creative outlet it has become until it was gone. I have an iPhone 12 pro…but, its not the same at all!
How have things been with you?
Something similar happened to me but the first time getting it repaired went wrong because the company was bad so I gave up on it for 1,5 years until I got a good repair service suggested
Now I got it n the post yesterday and am soooo happy because it looks better than before so I can definitely feel you although I don’t have a new one
So congratulations for your new iPod
Maury's lie detector test has determined...you are telling the truth! 🤣 You at least have a lot more screen realestate on your 12 Pro phone than I do on my SE2, but even so, it's a phone screen, not an iPad screen. Also, at least for me, when I try to produce on my iPhone, there's always that thought in the back of my mind that "I hope to god I don't get a call to extend my auto warranty in the middle of my live performance." 🤣
And god, I'd be too depressed to post too. I feel ya mate.
Pretty great all things considered. Well, truth be told, up until very recently I haven't posted much here at all. I became stuck in a nasty music creation burnout from early January to up to a couple weeks ago. Then the OP-1 Field was shown off in one of Gaz's videos, and the lust for that synth turned into me learning how to live perform Ambient in Koala, and from there on it's been a fun journey that I'm still on now.
Then, I recently fell into a bucketload of money due to my car accidentally being scraped by someone else's car (by a very nice lady), and had three choices. Fix the nasty scratch on my car, buy a new 12.9" iPad Pro for sheet music and Ambient production, or buy that OP-1 Field.
SO...I used the money and a 2018 11" iPad Pro trade-in to buy a new 12.9" iPad Pro mainly to be used as my new sheet music reader.
Sure it's a nasty scratch, but I'm not hung up on what my car looks like. I figured "If the car can get me to the Apple Store without the bumper falling off or the rims rolling away, I'll be fine."
By this point, I completely forgot the OP-1 Field exists, and I couldn't care less.
Also, my aging 2017 Pro is definitely showing its age and has that strange "brighter at the screen edges" problem, so that made up my mind for me. My career must come first.
That said, I'm not transferring my sheet music from iCloud to Piascore until Monday (my next gig is Wednesday). I'm still setting up my Ambient workspace.
Cheers mate.
