DDMF 6144 newbie question

So I bought this to give individual instrument apps a volume boost for live performances. Which works even if none the EQ bands are active. In LMF, MF and HMF sections there are 3 knobs. One for db change, one for frequency and one with a range of .7 to 5.0. What variable does this last knob represent and how would I use it?

That's the Q value for the corresponding band; higher Q is narrower bandwidth, lower Q is broader.
