Delay with trails when switched off
looking for a delay that will trail the signal once it is turned off and not kill the delay sound

What’s your host? You can do this with any delay if you run it in its own bus on full wet. Then you just mute the input to bypass with trails.
using AUM, i the plan is to have it on the main channel strip, didn't think of bussing it
OtherDesertCities and Au3fx:Dub both have mute in button.
And yes, any delay using AUM's send bus will do a job.
