Can you use your own loops and samples with Zenbeats?

I have jillions and jillions of loops and samples all already. My goal is to get a lot out of it, without paying for any IAP’s.

Instead of buying all the content in Zen beats, is it possible to use your own loops and samples?

Also, does it load audio units?

You’ll have to buy the unlock IAP but then yes, you don’t need to buy content. It runs AUs, including MIDI plug-ins, and it can record MIDI plug-in output if you configure it to do so. It’s the closest you can get to a Logic Pro workflow on iPad right now, IMO.

Can you (or anyone) suggest any good tutorial videos on zen? I’m curious how the workflow is?

How did you do configure midi effect to record it?

In the "MIDI" menu in each track channel, there's a toggle for "Pre MIDI FX". Toggle that on and it will record MIDI plug-in output.

    ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!!😱

I know, right? I like Zenbeats a lot, but there are a couple things like that, that are just hilariously non-intuitive. I had to google how to create subtracks the other day (also in the MIDI menu  )

Recording midi is a huge one! Pretty much all of the iOS/iPad DAWs require workarounds and other apps to accomplish this. I can’t wait to get back home and try it out.

    Thanks!

I’m not sure many people, including long time ZB3 users around here know it’s this simple.

Cubasis will also do this without fuss. There’s a “record to track” button in the midi plug-in view.
