also LayR seems not known by people who are new-ish to iOS music apps. Still one of the best.
NLog Pro. If only Nave and TC-11 were AU and Mitosynth.
Yes, the best trance synth for iOS!
Magellan 2 ( Randomize ‘spawn’ function is amazing, 32 step sequencer and chordmaker)
Poseidon (Killer for interesting and evolving Pads)
TAL-U-NO-LX (Quite a lot of 3rd Party Preset Banks available)
I bought it after trying the free Pocket version, even though I mis-considered it an Arturia product at that time. In fact it‘s a port by Cameron W. Jones, one of the original developers.
Synclavier Go has a very unique sound, imho a must have on the sonic palette.
Hmm, I see a lot of what I would consider the “big dogs” getting mentioned that don’t really seem underrated. But maybe that’s just me.
My vote goes to 4Waves. I almost never see it get mentioned. Has a very mid-range Minilogue/Microfreak kind of sound. Unique workflow too. I don’t see Phospor or OPL mentioned enough either.
Also the Oscillator series by Cooperator. All 4 of them together make for some great drones. Lastly I would say Anilog, Euclid, VAMono and Plectrum AU/Nimbus.
Are you sure? Their website does say 80% off "8th birthday sale", but I think that may only be for desktop purchases from their site. I just downloaded the DRC app on my iPad and the IAP for "unlock synth" is still $9.99.
EDIT: I think the sale applies only to Imaginando's VS Visual Synthesizer. Not DRC. Their VS synth is 80% off on App Store ($3.99 vs. regular $19.99).
A synth that is rarely mentioned on this forum is Addictive Pro. Addictive Pro is the synth with the most powerful arpegiator of all the ios synths I own. It allows you to combine up to four arpegiator runs in one - similar to Fugue Machine. Also, it is AUV3. It has a powerful and versatile effects section. It comes with hundreds of presets. Quality synth by a quality developer - @VirSyn.
DRC was on sale the day before along with the IAPs. I managed to snatch it.
Drambo
just downloaded and the presets are not very good at all
I'm revisiting Poison-202, Jim's apps are solid as a rock, they never crash for me, koala auv3 on the other hand, I've lost so many recordings
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sunvox/id324462544
SunVox is underrated as a synth, it comes with a very big collection of usable presets that you can use un AUv3 on any host.
I never got the hang of the sequencer, but I use it sometimes inside Drambo.
If you own Subarbytes' Egoist and only use it for the slicer, give the bass synth in there a chance - it's incredibly capable while also being extremely simple.
Okay, I step in : as being so-called « underrated AUv3 synth », I think Pure Synth Platinum is the underrated one. Mainly seen as a rompler, it comes along with a lot of synthesis capabilities. You can import your own wavetables and it offers poly-portamento, which is very rare.
I have it without downloading anything extra and it has some very very usable sounds.
You mean 4Waves? I only use the presets I made.
Agreed, it’s fantastic.
This. 100%. The drum machine and bass synth are both incredibly overlooked. Egoist is one of my favorite apps for that reason. The entire package is fantastic.
