Fête de la Musique/Make Music Day 2022

Tomorrow is Make Music Day! While the emphasis is on live performance of music outdoors, I'll be live performing some Ambient (big surprise) and uploading it to Soundcloud.

  • Do any of you have plans for Make Music Day tomorrow? :)

  • I have been semi-off here and with music making in general for a month or two.
    I had intentions on getting back to work on some WIP this week. Didn't know about Fête de la Musique
    Seems like the best moment to get back in the game. Won't be live, but at least i'll do something :lol:

    I have a track started out on my MC-101, will track it into Reaper or Live on my PC, send the stems to Beatmaker 3, and then record additional instruments. Thinking of putting a bit of EMX, QY-70 and TD-3 gear-wise and maybe Egoist

  • Plan B: Ditch all of this and just go with something new, recording stuff to my SP-404 and improvising

    Already had a long mountain bike ride planned or I would have loved to do a new outdoor set. 😔

    @senhorlampada
    LOL! Well, yeah, it doesn't HAVE to be live performed. It can be live produced, or simply produced by laying out audio and MIDI. It can be any genre to boot. :) And if you choose not to use iOS, you're definitely welcome to post your results here in this thread. So long as you make music, that's what counts!

    @Tarekith
    I'll tell you this much mate. If you have an iPhone, Audioshare, AUM, PaulXStretch beta via TestFlight https://sonosaurus.com/paulxstretch/ , a DAW like Cubasis 3 if you don't want to record a live performance, and a juicy reverb like Alteza, you can certainly produce some type of atonal Ambient on your bike ride. ;) A person must rest now and then on a long bike ride, and one can capture the unique soundscapes around themselves and pop it into a dedicated project folder in Audioshare.

    Then once home, you can either use your iPhone, or airdrop to your iPad, and then mangle the shit out of the sounds with PaulXStretch, lay out the audio in a DAW of choice like Cubasis 3, and produce something entirely new. Unless you're in an anechoic chamber, there will always be sound around you mate. Hopefully this helps spark some ideas. Cheers, and enjoy your bike ride tomorrow!

  • I made this today. The music was composed and improvised in Ableton, the Video was made on iOS (VS Synth and LumaFusion).

  • I was hoping my T-8 might have arrived in time.

    Do you have Pure Acid mate? :) You could try to imitate the T-8 workflow.

    Of course mate! :) Can't wait to hear more amazing compositions and pieces pour into this thread.

    Bloody hell, lol. Today's random sound of the day from Freesound is this https://freesound.org/people/klankbeeld/sounds/367646/ . The idea is to create a new piece of Ambient, not resample someone else's work. :lol: Ah, well, time to browse Freesound to see what I can find.

    EDIT: Found this sample. https://freesound.org/people/NachtmahrTV/sounds/618112/ Stretched it to 20 minutes and lowered the pitch. This will probably be my base. Now to record some stuff into Gauss.

  • In case anyone missed it and is interested, Tonality is free today in celebration!

    Of course, it's my most used AU by a country mile!
