Great video sir, the MPC Key is bonkers!
As a huge Scaler 2 fan, I always drive people towards ChordPolyPad on iOS and and Cthulhu on desktop.
Thanks! Agreed! I think it’ll be a hit
You going for the keyboard on day one?!! Scaler is the cheat code of the year for me. Insane how easy it is to get something going
Shoutout to @hansjbs for catching this early

$499 for the bundle of new instruments for MPC (not mpc key 61) users. Us iOS users have got it good lol 😂
And as predicted $1899 is the price

Oooh, awesome!
You grabbing?
Personally at the price I’d rather have an MPC and a decent midi controller rather than this however some people will love it and kudos to Akai for expanding their range.
Is it due to the form factor or something else?

Too much! By a lot. Especially for folks like myself that haven't used the MPC to know how much I'd want that.
@ipadbeatmaking said: “I got bored creating on my desktop and went back to my iPad.”
That says a lot.. The iPad is sooo great.. It’s why I wonder, what’s in a Drambo update..
Imma get those plugins for my MPC for sure!
Which mpc are you running, and how do u feel about the $499 bundle price?
But u get the $499 plugin bundle free with the mpc key vs going the mpc live 2 route. Does that tip the scale at all?
What would’ve been a better price in your opinion?
Form factor and price, maybe a smaller version (less keys, much smaller body) might have tempted me, still I don’t hate it, it’s just not for me.
I do think the plug suite is expensive for current MPC users though.
The new OPX-4 FM synth is really nice sounding...running the demo of it now, and really liking the grooves I am making.
Fabric and Stage Pianos are nice too!!!! Wow, this is really impressive
Thankfully I can pair it (Live 2) with the Xkey air or an iPad app and have a little slice of the mpc key life lol 😂
Very steep imo. At $250 I would’ve done it already because I think the platform is that good. $500 for the bundle at a discount from it individually costing over $1000 is really really rich. We talking Omnisphere or V-Collection pricing. What’s worse is I’m not seeing an upgrade path to cherry pick and upgrade to the bundle as I go. So it’s either eat the $500 now or piece meal $1000 over time. Not fun options. Plus the trial is only 9 days.
I almost wish I could start over with something like the MPC Keys. It looks really cool, It's a full workstation, the price isn't too bad for all the inclusions. I feel like it's for the producer who knows what they need and seems like a solid investment for making full tracks.
All that depends on software optimization and hardware performance, though.
MPC Key 61 + MPC Instrument Collection - $1899 + $0 = $1899
MPC Live 2 + MPC Instrument Collection - $1299 + $499 = $1699
$200 more for the first option, but for me the value I'd get in return would be worth it.
Reportedly, if you buy MPC Key 61, you will not only get the MPC Instrument Collection plugins for free instead of $499, but you will also be able to share their licenses with up to 2 other MPC devices. For me this not a factor as I don't own any MPC devices at the moment, but I'm guessing some people will be interested in the 3-device thing.
MPC One 😍
I might go one plugin at a time, but I am drooling at the potential Akai Plugin Store thought. I feel like that is the future.
I’m waiting for a sale. Air desktop plugins have a massive drop when on sale so I’m in no rush. I usually attach other synth’s via midi and cv to my MPC anyway.
@CapnWillie if you watch the sonicstate video with Andy Mac around 23 minutes in they kinda mentioned this will be the only variation. Maybe demand might change their mind but I don’t see how they can make that layout smaller without removing some stuff.
It's annoying that those plugins can't be used as VSTs too. For that, they are quite expensive. MPC61 looks great and it's almost there as a perfect sampler keyboard but the plugins don't quite match what Maschine / NI has.
Do you mean maschine + (stand-alone) or maschine (regular controller) connected to a computer?
