BINAURAL BEATS Anyone?

Hey folks. Looking for an App with which I could create/use/record/integrate Binaural Beats. I don't have a vast knowledge but have found them helpful at times. I have a great program called Sleepstream for listening to them, but would like a program that would (ideally) work with Audiobus. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance. . .

  • I have used Gnaural a program on my Mac for binaural beats. I use it when working with clients who are into hypnotism and new age healing audio recordings (I do voice overs for them or background music). It creates huge files so it may not be good to just transfer to an idevice... But I admit I am curious if anyone is making or knows of an app to create these binaural beats....

@CertainUnease Voltan Telepathy has a Binaural Beats Generator, AudioBus and IAA. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/votan-telepathy/id658261210?mt=8

  • Thanks! Anyone else try the Votan?

Yes I bought Votan in when it was on sale a few weeks ago. I tried really hard to like it but it crashes all the time, especially in AB. Also the preset/file menu is terrible. Reluctantly deleted and hoping for an update as it holds promise. Very good for atmospherics.

Edit: should have mentioned that the crashes occur when you try and save something. Very annoying.

  • I actually went ahead and got a refund for Voltan. Absolutely useless crash fest on iPad Air. If I was lucky I could perhaps mess around in it for 1-2 minutes before it crashed. I usually just delete apps and move on, but this was just so bad I just had to press the refund button.

  • I think it is a half-assed port from a VST. Never been updated but there is always hope:-)

  • Very poor app IMO. Deleted it, reinstalled a couple of times after updates and deleted shortly after each update. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

@CertainUnease I haven't really used Votan but I get the impression people don't like it. ;-)

So on with the task of creating Binaural Beats using an acceptable iPad app with AudioBus.

Kymatica's Oscillator 1.2 is on the AudioBus and would be perfect if you could pan the oscillators hard right and left. As a work around you could pick your frequencies and record them to separate channels.

  • @pholowerx That's a good idea! Maybe stereo designer or tone stack ...
