You can always join @MobileMusicPro 's live-stream in less than 20 minutes and enter the give-away at the end of the stream :sunglasses:

This was an easy buy for me as there's not a single Reverb on iOS that can sync both reverb start and length to midi-clock and it does so much more. (Got Pro-R, TB Reverb and a few others and even got the Sunset IAP for MixBox).
    @jakoB_haQ made a good walk-thru...

And no, it's not a severe case of App-o-Holism but a decision I made some time ago to support Baby Audio's iOS entry...

    Cheers!

  • Thanks Samu

  • I wonder how it compares with TB reverb.

$15-20 is my limit for any iOS apps now. I can live without it for the time being.

But thanks for the review, as always @jakoB_haQ.

  • Should I get this or Fab Filter?

Yeah, this...I'm hoping for Spaced Out...

The sync thing was the first thing that caught my eye and after deep diving into it, I found Crystalline to be pretty awesome.

Can’t wait to see the rest of their plugins com me over to iOS.

  • Stop telling me how good it is. Lalalalalala. I can't hear you...

It depends on what genre(s) you produce and what reverbs you already have. :)

  • Is there really anything in Crystalline that no other previous iOS app could do?

It seems like its more about the combination of elements in one app.

  • I have enough reverbs from now, especially since I recently (finally) bought Altispace. Holding out for a sale on this one. If there’s no sale after a couple months I’ll take the plunge. Seems great though! Love the Baby Audio stuff.

  • It’s a beauty. Nice video @jakoB_haQ 👍

Thanks so much for the shoutout Sam!! And I really enjoyed Jakob's video, I always learn so much from him! :)

  • @jakoB_haQ thanks for a very thorough and informative video!

TB Reverb and Pro-R are quite similar (except of course that TB Reverb has a shimmer option) - they're very smooth sounding reverbs that allow you very tight control over the filtering and the timbre of the reflections.

Crystalline on the other hand is a reverb with more character and more control over the decay of the reverb tail, you can definitely get more interesting (or even weird) sounds out of it.

I would say they both serve different purposes. For me Crystalline is the perfect reverb to use on lead guitar or synths, you can really sculpt the character of the reverb tail.

Pro-R and TB reverb on the other hand allow you to fit the reverb into the mix more cleanly with the control over the filters and reflections.

Thanks for the insight Richard! I’m leaning towards TB or Crystalline. I’m slowly building and expanding my fx. For now I do most of my reverbs with the (free but great) plate reverb section of Lunar Lander.

  • @jakoB_haQ your excellent video highlights for me why I think Crystalline is the best reverb on iOS now. When you couple it with the more traditional but just as quality sounds of IK’s Sunset Rooms, we really have reached a good place on iOS for reverbs. 👍

  • Bebot!!!

  • I wonder how much CPU this beast is gonna eat on an iPad Pro 2 gen.

Less than FF Pro-R, more than TB Reverb at similar settings (eco, then max) in my unscientific testing.

I think it all depends on what you compare it to?

From my experience there's not a single app that has a constant CPU load...
...it all depends on what features are being used :sunglasses:

It's approximately in the same CPU-Usage league as FF Pro-R and TB-Reverb.
