Ares was the most difficult puppy I have ever raised. My wife actually wanted to take him back to the shelter. He's a good boy now, but it took a long time to get there. Hang in there. 😁
@MadeofWax actually, he’s quite good. Slept thru the night in a crate on my bed (so he could see me), already seems to signal when he needs to go out.
@CapnWillie, whippets are very unusual, indeed, very funny and entertaining. Plenty of YouTube that shows and talks about them. They’re very quiet, seldom bark, but some sing. I highly recommend the breed. They need exercise (can run 35 mph) but also very lazy and can sleep the day away. Bodhi cost $2k and some are around $3k. He’s pure bred and could be akc registered but we don’t care about that. Also very cuddly. Spoilt for any other breed now.
Any good doggo usually is a handful, heehee. But they are loveable.
@jwmmakerofmusic, actually, after spending a peaceful night with nary a whimper from him (in his kennel on my bed so he could see me), I have discovered her ie rather remarkably easy to be around. He does have periods of tremendous energy during the day, mixed with utter laziness. Whippet owners call the spurts of high energy
“zoomies” (adult whippets can do 35 mph, greyhounds can do 45).
I was expecting hell, but he’s a real delight. And Cynthia is wild about him, as I had desperately hoped.
