  • Very nice demo Doug. They really are great plugins and worth every cent of anyone's money.

  • I wonder if these plugins will ever be available as IAA. It's quite logical that they should be, but probably there are some limitations preventing FabFilter to launch them as such...

  • Love these two so much. Plus timeless... so good! Plus Auria's ability to automate all of it... it's good stuff!

  • I'll do one with Timeless

  • Micro-C might be another to show, if anyone wanted to start with a low cost way of entering the FabFilter world.

  • FWIW, there is already a good collection of videos on youtube about the fab filter plugins. Maybe instead of timeless people around here would be interested in seeing some of the non-Fab Filter effects (PSP?) or how you can automate Turnado/Wow within Auria?

If you're doing a collection of DAW videos, maybe some comparisons across apps would be cool. Like, same drum loop in each and testing built in compression and/or EQ and/or reverbs?

  • You're right @syrupcore, Dan Worrall's FabFilter vids are excellent and up there with Caustic's for production values and info. However, they do tend towards the technical and might deter some people that don't yet have them. Doug's do give a different perspective and are a great starting point.

  • Great video Doug. Excited about the series of DAW getting started vids. Been looking to branch out and not sure where to start. An opportunity to compare is going to be nice. Keep them coming.

  • You, too, are right, @thinds.

  • This is great timing, Doug! I just picked up Auria last week during the 1/2 off sale. I picked up the THM Overloud guitar plug-in, mostly for the sake of convenience/curiosity, as it is a bit older than the new standalone guitar apps we have, but still very good and somewhat versatile.

While I lucked out in the sense that my iPad 2 can handle Auria for most of the basic recording and editing I do, introducing pretty much any of the effects plugins starts to freeze it up or cause problems. Convultion Reverb is pretty much a no-go, for example. But I've heard good things about Saturn and some of the other ones, and would pick them up in the future on a faster device.

  • @stormjh1 did you try setting Auria on its highest buffer setting? Make sure it's not in audiobus. I have an ipad3 which is basically the same and can get the convo to work if I go to the highest buffer setting. Freeze, rinse, repeat.
