JWM - Hellish Nightmare (Dark Ambient)

Have you ever had a nightmare that was so powerful that the feeling it made you feel lingered with you throughout the entire day after it? That's what happened to me a couple nights ago. I can't remember most of it, but being locked in a room with this motherf*cker...

...really stuck with me. I thought drawing the "roaring eyeball monster" would be enough to get the lingering feeling of paranoia out of my system, but it wasn't enough. So at 4am this morning, I decided to capture the feeling I felt into sound, and here are the results.

And yes, it took me about 30 minutes to find an otherworldly monster roar on Freesound to closely match EXACTLY what it sounded like, but I succeeded mates! Production notes on how I crafted the piece are in the Soundcloud description. Cheers.

Some would have it that in non Euclidean dimensions or planes immediately adjacent to our own, interpenetrating ours, vibrating at frequencies and angles undetectable in our mundane universe, but no less real for all of that, are entities which know of our existence, our life force, our energies; and they hunger for them.

Such sages advise that it is possible for us to encounter such entities, or at least that small part of them capable of reaching within the bounds of our puny three dimensional comprehension, in the liminal space which opens beyond the wall of sleep. And once the entities feel our gaze upon them there, their gaze inexorably also turns upon us, here.

They - taste - our interloper presence in their reality, as a restless shark, fathoms deep, tastes the blood of a wounded swimmer floundering, lost, upon the surface of a night time ocean. Sleep is both spoor and door, to our waking world.

If once you have caught their attention…

…if one cannot shake the sense of a nightmare which follows you through into our waking world…

…there is a reason for that.

It is because it has.

Neither do I. Scared the shit out of me! Oof. Then a couple nights later, I had a dream about some crazy guy chasing me with a loaded rifle. I don't have much in my life currently to cause me anxiety, so I'm like "what the fuck?" Then again, perhaps since my creativity is at an all time high, my brain stays creative while I sleep. But then again, I want peaceful dreams, not strange, weird dreams that make my feet kick involuntarily and knock all the shit off of my night stand. 🤣

You're welcome mate. Truth be told, the morning after that nightmare, I listened to some of your Youtube videos to calm myself down. A man, his guitar, his soothing voice, and unbridled passion. What more could I ask for?
