JWM - Flight Into Space (more of a minimal piece of Ambient)
Or...at least I tried to be minimal. Despite using only two sound sources, somehow the damn piece still ended up sounding cinematic. 😂
And believe me, I tried to love Spacefields, but either I'm blind, or there seems to be no default setting/preset. I don't like starting from presets 99% of the time. That said, SoundSaw really added some great texture to my chosen PaulXStretched drone.
Cheers, and if you enjoyed it, please be sure to leave a comment below. Thanks for listening.

Hi jwm,
You are right, this sound is very cinematic, and I actually love this recording.
Lovely creation, with a soundscape that paints peace and serenity, with a spice of light suspense.
I dig this.
Rene
You did another good ambient! Thanks for sharing
Here is a tutorial to setup a Init-preset:
@ReneAsologuitar Thanks mate. 🙂 In a way it's kind of like "Music for Spaceports", where there's a sense something could go wrong when in space, but "may as well be at peace with possibly dying out here". 🤣
@sevenape Absoluty mate. And thank you for your kind words!
@Identor Thank you so much! 😃 Spent a little time trying to find the right tutorial. I should've known our mate SoundForMore had my arse covered lol.
I enjoyed this one. Vast and enveloping, and nothing is wasteful or extraneous. What is your opinion of Soundsaw? Ambient double album masterpiece someday? Wouldn’t surprise me one bit
I absolutely LOVE Soundsaw! What an amazing app to affect the signal with. 😃 Time for breakfast and to watch @sfm 's video about SpaceFields. Bloody legend that man. And once I'm done watching that video, I return to form live producing proper Ambient. "What do you mean 'return to form'?" I produced this piece of shite as part of that desert island challenge...

...and I loathe the final results. I get so much more excitement out of live producing Ambient rather than, you know, "statically" producing it.
Good stuff! Exactly the kind of thing i enjoy putting on loop and playing while going to sleep / sleeping / waking up. Yeah don't worry about comments. Most people won't bother. But i think your ambient stuff is probably more at home on this forum than the edm stuff. Loads of ambient fans here for sure. Have you not noticed that Jakob Haq's vids have also become a lot more ambient-oriented of late too? Ambient is also particularly appealing to a) people who can't play keyboard well, which is most of us on this forum b) ppl lacking advanced music theory, which is most of us c) people enjoying live performance, in which area an iOS device is arguably a lot more satisfying than a computer + mouse combo. Apart from all the above, I think ambient and drone is having a bit of a moment anyway. So much noise and nonsense in the world today, people need a bit of respite.
Great job. Always interesting to see where your creativity takes you.
Edit: Actually, scratch that. This was fantastic. I finally understand where I can listen to Ambient music. I let the song play in the background as I was doing paperwork and wow, this is way better than lo-fi music in my opinion.
Excellent! I'm so happy! Lately, I've been listening to far less EDM/Pop and far more Ambient, moreso usually over the SoundCloud app than Spotify. I get inspired that way!
I've found that to be the case too, my friend. And sure, I'm not gonna worry about comments much anymore. I think these days it's about building up my library on SoundCloud of great stuff I want to listen to while taking a drive to the gym.
EDM stuff these days for me is more for earning some extra side income from Fiverr if need be. Ambient and Soundscaping are for fulfilling the soul. I don't know, but EDM is just so constricting, and I have to worry about mastering it. It's difficult to be creative with it.
With Ambient and Soundscaping, mastering is secondary to what creative effects one can plop onto the master buss let alone the mixer tracks. It's all about creating an atmosphere.
Oh I have. I'm wondering if I had something to do with it. 🤷 A couple of my mates here attribute this new wave of Ambient hitting the AudioBus Forum scene to my drive and passion for it. That speaks louder than any comments one can leave. That being said, all I'm doing is attempting to build upon and be inspired by the masters who came before me such as Brian Eno, David Lynch, Tangerine Dream, etc. To think this all started with a lust for the OP-1 Field two months ago, lol.
And d) People like me who have advanced music theory knowledge, can play the keyboard well, but are pretty sick and tired of being constrained to the 8-bar loop, time signatures, and key signatures. 🤣 What speaks to my soul more...a country song about an evil eyeball monster that'll come off as cheesy, camp, shite and lame? Or attempting to invoke the feeling I felt when I had the monster and make you all as uneasy and scared shitless as I was when I had that nightmare? 😈
EXACTLY! They say you can't fight fire with fire, but I will fight noise and nonsense with my own noise and nonsense. 🤣
Thanks my good friend. Hope you're holding up well. ❤️
Thank you so much mate. Well, lo-fi has its place no doubt. Maybe lo-fi Ambient! 😱 Bruh!
And I find if I have a longer drive ahead of me, Ambient fits in perfectly. Especially my more "outer space" type experiments.
