How To Import Audio File To A Track in Nanostudio 2?

This will drive me crazy. How? I read all I have to read but cannot figure it out.

I have a projet with 5 track and I just want to drag and drop an audio file in my track 6, how?

If you could explain it to me as if I was a 5 years old kids it would be nice because I feel dumb right now.

Thanks

  • I know how to listen, but this is just a kind of audio player. The file is not in a track with my projects.

You are looking at the audio editor. NS2 does not have audio tracks. You have to load your audio into Slate or Obsidian and neither is ideal.

  • Ohh boy, that isn't going to be easy to explain.

First of all, there are no audio tracks in NS2. That's right, you can't just drop an audio file onto a track and move it around like other DAWs.

So, what you have to do is import the file to either the Slate drum instrument and trigger the file from pads/notes when you need it. Length of the sample is limited in that case. For longer samples you have to import to Obsidian.

Or, you have to resort to 3rd party plugins such as 4Pockets Multitrack Recorder or Loopy Pro.

I'm not well versed enough in any of those methods to give you simple instructions. When it comes to what you're would like to do, I turn away from NS2 and use another DAW such as Cubasis or Zenbeats.

  • If you already have the audio recorded using an AU like Neon or Loopy Pro or MultiTrack recorder is probably the easiest way to go.

  • Back to GarageBand! Thank you all!

  • I was lurking Cubasis 3. I thought to myself it was not necessary since I already have NS2, Garage Band, AUM, Drambo. But maybe it will add something to the table.
