JWM - Elijah (An Ambient Diss Track 🤣 )
I need to let loose a little. You ever have that one friend who is a complete billy no mates that cries and whinges about everything? And then when you try to help him by giving advice, he outright ignores you and still continues to cry and whinge? Meet Elijah, the giant crybaby.
(That's not his real name as I want to keep some sense of anonymity.)
I can see if he was a teenager, but this man is in his late 30s, around the same age as me. I am so damned fed up with him and his antics, and I don't know why I bother to remain his friend beyond a sense of pity. So I finally made a soundscape to vent out my frustrations with him.

I think you do a great job conveying what you describe. The initial loop is hypnotic, and I like how the snarling deeper layers creep in. You’re on a roll, and it’s hardly possible to keep up. Nice work!
Exactly, LOL! Sometimes the best art springs forth from negative emotions such as frustration, anger, sadness, grief, etc. Then again, while I don't consider this piece my best art, it makes me laugh my arse off when I listen to it. 🤣 It's a simpler piece of Ambient, but that's sometimes all a person needs to express their emotions.

The deeper I get into the wonderful art that is Ambient and soundscaping, the better I'm able to express the deepest of my emotions far more than I can in traditional songs. I'm in love with the initial loop, and as I listen back to this entire piece, it sounds like something that came out of one of David Lynch's worst nightmares too frightening for even a surrealist like him to handle. 🤣 But then again, this piece is my anger and frustration in its purest sonic form in my opinion.
I mean, if you want to know the truth (and I'll try to be as vague as possible while giving just enough details), Elijah is a caretaker for one of his loved ones. He fucked up his primary hand years ago when he caught said loved one from falling over, thereby disabling his ability to create art of his many characters.
I have purchased him several things in the past to try and help make him happy. I purchased him a Mini 5 and Apple Pencil that would be easier to use than a laptop with a Bamboo tablet. I have purchased him a few commissions from others of his characters, and it's never enough. I have tried to make art of his characters, and my efforts are not good enough to him.
I suggested to him to get on SSDI and Medicare/Medicaid (he lives in the US like me), and I was ignored. I suggested to him to stick his loved one in a nursing home or get a 24/7 care team in place covered by his loved one's insurance (and yes, his loved one HAS Medicare Parts A and B and Medicaid), and I was ignored.
He'd rather cry and whine on social media about what he doesn't have and how "money rules all" rather than come up with proactive solutions. And he kisses the arses of other artists in hopes THEY make him free art. All he wants is to wallow in his misery.
WHY I remain his friend is a mystery, even to me. This piece of Ambient really is a culmination of the frustration built up over the past two and a half years. 🤣

...was created in response to something else, I'll dedicate it to my former friend I call "Elijah". Why exactly?
Well, he finally cheesed me off enough to cause me to block him for good this time. It wasn't just whinging about art and money and how his "life is unfair". He outright accused his friends (which included me) of not caring about him. "Wahhh, nobody cares about me. 😭 "
"Well, I care Elijah."
(silence for a couple hours, then) "Waaah, I may as well just disappear, because nobody cares about me."
"Come on man, we friends care about you! What about us?"
(ignores me) "Nobody cares, wah wah wah wah boo hoo hoo!"
"I have made you art! I have given you advice! I've told you I cared several times already! Just knock it off!"
(ignores) "Waaaaaaah! Nobody cares!"
So I PMed him calling him out for being a baldfaced liar in regards to claiming people don't care about him in order to manipulate other artists into drawing his characters. So what did Elijah do? He posted a photo of his ailing father in public saying "THERE! Nobody can accuse me of lying now!" And after sending another scathing PM about him missing the point, I blocked him.
Honestly, this man will turn 40 this November, and he still acts like a juvenile. I can try to overlook the drama in regards to him not getting art, him being his father's main caregiver, his wrist, etc. What I cannot overlook is being accused of not caring and being lied about.
Then I come off as the jerk for getting terse with him with other mutuals ending up blocking me. 😂 Good riddance to them, and good riddance to Elijah. I refuse to participate in the toxicity any longer.
This makes me think of early Pink Floyd. I mean… early! Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun early. I think a Syd Barrett guitar solo would fit right in. Maybe some strange processed vocals and orchestral percussion. Just my two cents.
