Help! Unity thru levels with iConnectAudio?
This is a weird question, but maybe someone can help me solve a weird puzzle.
The setup:
- Mac with K-Mix, K-Mix is connected to speakers.
- iPad with iConnectAudio4+.
- K-Mix analog jack outputs 3+4 > iConnect analog inputs 1+2
- iConnect Outputs 1+2 > K-Mix input jacks 3+4/
The reason for this setup is that I like to sometimes send audio between iPad and Mac, to use Koala to sample etc. But I prefer to use the K-Mix as my main Mac interface, as it has more ins and outs.
I know I could aggregate the K-Mix and the iConnectAudio on the Mac, and send the audio through the built-in loopback, but the aggravation adds significant latency, whereas my analog hookup does not.
Finally, my question:
How do I get unity gain across the iConnect? That is, I want to feed a signal into it, and get the exact same level out. If I set everything on the iConnect to 0db, then it's all way too loud.
The other wild card is the input trim on the K-Mix, but I can handle that if I know how to set the in and out levels on the iConnect to give me unity gain on the signals going through it.
Comments
Are the K-Mix analog inputs configured as Line (Hi-Z) inputs, not Mic inputs?
Line. I’m using the quarter-inch jack-only inputs, which are line only. (They can be switched to phono levels too, but I have mine on line level).
