@rs2000 Man, lucky guy! After all the years, how are the encoders and LEDs around them?
Still all perfect. Which I cannot say about my blofeld or A5000
yeah, it was amazing.. especially setting up layers was, thanks to les rings where you instantly saw current set value when switched between layer, was incredibly intuitive..
Nope, i have Digitone, Digitakt and Analog 4 mk1 and next thing i need to my setup is Octatrack (want to use it as performance mixer/fxunit/resampler).. maybe then Syntakt but not sure if syntakt can add something missing into this setup, i'm tryimg to force myself keep things simple and reduce number of HW )
Yes, one of best VA synths ever made.. enjoyed it even more that Virus TI ...
A little side note: In the PCM expansion for the Digital D1 synth, all of the sounds I've provided are made on and sampled from my NL3.
That's good to know!
Too bad I found Digital D1 to be a bit too unstable for my liking as It kept on bailing on me way too much to be usable...
(And sadly that's still my experience with most AK based apps).
Cheers!
That's true @Samu. And quite unfortunate.
I wish it was more stable because it's based on one of the better open source AUv3 SDKs.
That's awesome. It's no wonder it holds its value.
@dendy Cool. I feel like I need an Elektron in the mix since it's sequencer excels where the Akai Force's sequencer fails. P-locks, probability, random, happy accidents.
I believe the Analog 4 would fill a deeper hole in my minimal set (Just Force and laptop/iPad).. I don't need another drum machine, even if it has real analog and digital engines. Analog 4 can do great drums, much deeper synthesis options. Still wish for Monomachine MK3 even though it will never happen.
In your case, I would make sure to play with the Syntakt drum engines before getting the Analog 4.
In my set, I wouldn't wanna miss the power of Drambo anymore and it goes far beyond the Syntakt but yes, if we only had dedicated hardware controllers for everything 😉
Thanks @rs2000 Drambo's been on my backburner for too long.
It could be more fun to create pre-made racks like the synth blocks in the Analog Four or in the Syntakt and have a number of meta controls instead of complicated, busy racks. Worth a thought because the controls can be MIDI mapped.
cool
Yeah A4 definitely doeas amazing drums - kicks, snares, hihats, various percussiosn .. very cool .. also big advantage is it can play up to 4 voices polyphonic (which Syntakt can't) .. A4 synth engine is VERY deep, i was actually very suprised by some details - just plain oscillator section is unusually deep, for example there us directly build in "vibrato" and pulsewidth modulators - so you don't need to waste with LFOs to make vibrato or modulate pulse width of oscillator .. also every oscillator has it's own suboscillator - so you have 2 osc and 2 subosc + noise - that is cool .. and much more such details .. it's very VERY deep synth, plethora of modulating posibilities and the sound is earthshaking .. like really huge ..
and recently learned trick where you connect CV out with CV in (using cable) and then you can CV sequencer track use to modulate synth tracks !
Increadible machine.
That's true @dendy, monophonic tracks in the Syntakt somewhat reduce it to an electronic bass, lead, drums and percussion machine
As if it was an intentional decision to make you buy all three of the family: Digitakt, Digitone and Syntakt.
honestly recent 2 weeks i tried to sell my A4 to fund Syntakt purchase.. but then i coincidently revisited Substan's A4 jams and instantly changed my mind :-)))
This one for example:
Man, used Elektron A4 Keys were selling for around $800 a year ago on Reverb. Now they're selling for over $1000.
bouht A4 desktop form 600€ few months ago on Reverb ...
