As promised, ladiesngennellmannothers: a not very exciting video. This is: Tindalos
“They move slowly through angles. They have no bodies, and they move slowly through outrageous angles.”
- Chalmers, in ”The Hounds Of Tindalos” by Frank Belknap Long, 1929*
- Full text of the story available here: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Hounds_of_Tindalos
Entire track created edited and mastered in AUM on iPad, based on a brief found sound loop I captured on iPhone 6S whilst out dog walking, of a person practicing their flute in a garden.
When I first started it, it coincidentally ended up sounding so much like @rottencat’s lovely recent video/noise piece, the inappropriately named ‘Unexciting’ that it was enough to make me believe in morphic resonance, but lest I be condemned as a damnable plagiarist, I felt called upon to move away from that work in progress to put clear blue ichor between me and any fellow sailors on the seas of static.
Also @jwmmakerofmusic asked to be alerted to the drop, so: here you go!
The flute sound, I discovered, was somewhat overlaid by the panting of the dog, (the ghosts of which provide the occasional percussive white noise in the finished piece). This put me in mind of Belknap Long’s great addition to Lovecraft’s Mythos. I used Brusfri to clean up the sound slightly, duped and slowed the loop, then used Scaler 2 driven by the loop to play various Mood Unit Waverly presets. Doom bell courtesy of KQ Dixie. All extensively modified with various fx.
The ‘Hound’ image on which the Video shenanigans happen was created by my new favourite thing, a free online text-to-image AI programme called https://www.starryai.com, seed phrase ‘the hounds of Tindalos coming through the walls’ , image filter ‘Lovecraftian’. This is the original AI created image:
Video manipulations on iPad by Glitch Sudio, top and tailed in iPad iMovie. Enjoy!
- one of the many creations by friends and fellow writers that, with Lovecraft’s blessing, were adopted into the Cthulhu Mythos. A brilliant story with an unusual… angle?

One of my favourite short stories, I’ll enjoy the anticipation of listening to this later…
Cool stuff. Great video presentation.
very nice and interesting video.
Also have an inviting and suspenseful vibe to the music, that keeps you exploring.
You got me into your world.

Your piece and @rottencat could definitely sit together on a release. Two different sides of the same story. Yours is a bit scarier and chilling (Must be Lovecraft's influence...) while @rottencat piece is a warmer and brighter. A perfect balance.
Alluring and demented in equal measure.
Not an easy feat to accomplish.
This is just plain bewitching @Svetlovska.
This piece was luscious and beautiful and haunting, and the visuals were simply exquisite. I was feeling antsy this morning, and this piece calmed me down so much that I took a nap and had a strange dream. I can't remember it, but I remember the vibe - to later be interpreted into sound of course. What an experience this morning was.
Thank you for this wonderful piece of Ambient. Can't wait to hear more. ❤️
And MU Waverley is a pretty good “secret weapon” isn’t it?
I like it!
