Help with DPP (SOLVED)

Hi, wonder if anyone can help. I have DDP on an IPad Air 11. I want to connect Irig pads to play the samples assigned to the pads I want (which I’m just about starting to figure out).
However when I’m in the Kits screen and I press the arrows to scroll through Kick/snare/HH Open etc. there’s only 8 slots and it doesn’t show any Toms. If I go to the pads screen I have 32 pads with high/low toms and everything else. I’m using the standard kits. Appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Chris

  • Hi. Could you please give the name of the "DPP/DDP" app you're using?

Have you checked if the app uses pre-defined MIDI notes for the sounds, maybe the GM MIDI percussion assignments?

  • DrumPerfect Pro?

If it’s DrumPerfect Pro, then the list scrolls side to side by dragging your finger.

  • Yes Drum perfect pro, the list scrolls. I have 4 then scroll and get another 4 (so 8 total) and that’s it. No Tom drums on there.

All settings are default as I removed the app and re installed to see if that would fix

  • It doesn’t act that way for me. What kit are you editing? Can you post a screenshot?

  • Garage kit, but it’s the same on all. Rock, Light etc. when you scroll how many slots do you have?

  • Could you try the following:

    • tap the right arrow
    • select a different sound from the one currently highlighted
    • tap the right arrow again.

I'm guessing that the arrows may be implemented as radio buttons, so they cannot be tapped twice in a row.

Also, please identify your iPadOS version. This functionality may have been affected by an OS update.

  • Thanks. It’s iPadOS15.6

I tried the above with no luck. I have 4 sounds and tap the arrow for 4 more but that’s it.

The arrows go to the beginning or end of the list.
Scroll the list by dragging. For example, if you are at the beginning of the list, put your finger on Open Hat and drag left to expose for drums. High Tom is the drum in the list.

  • Great, thank you. Solved! Seems like I was being stupid and didn’t try sliding the menu. Thanks for everyone’s help. I can now get back to figuring out assigning them to my drum pads. 😃
