iPhone SE vs Pro Max: Big Screen Worth It?

I'm comparing the iPhone SE with the Pro Max, and am mainly wondering about the screen size. There's a pretty significant difference, and yes I'm specifically talking about music making apps, which I would be using it for.

If anyone has any experience to share, much appreciated. :)

  • Go for the Pro Max. Screen size isn't the only factor. Processing power and battery life are also factors for music creation. If you have the money for a Pro Max, get the Pro Max with at least 256gb capacity if not more.

Looks like the latest SE has the same chip as the latest Pro Max, though only 4GB RAM compared to 6, and yeah a little less battery life.

I'm probably just going to be dumping everything to desktop for production though, so I'm not really looking for a full fledged production device.

So it's mainly the screen that has me wondering.

Ah it depends on which apps you want to use. NS2 and Auxy both fit well on the SE screen for instance. :)

keep in mind 1/2 of the audio app (probably more) are iPad only. you can get an iPad mini for a fraction of the cost of an "iMaxi Pro Plus S" phone.

Yes, I also just got a new battery for my old phone, 6s+ (for the headphone out), while investing in a new iPad mini. Even the big phones are to small when you are used to iPad size interfaces.

  • I’d say it’s worth it for the screen real estate plus other benefits.

  • I think once you get used to the bigger screen size you never want to go back, it makes a huge difference to the usability of the phone, for music and for everything else.
