Sample Arpeggios!

What would be your use of apps , in order to sample an arpeggio and after that to be able to play it chromatically on the keyboard ?
Interested in the fastest way of achieving this .

12 times the same file in Koala and you isolate the file to the note you want each time. You can use your midi controller to control Koala.

  • Sample the arpeggio loop once, enable time-stretch for the sample and play it chromatically in Koala or BM3 etc.
You might need 2 loops one for minor key and one for major key and pick the sample that fits the note you trigger.

Except you can’t play chromatically with time stretch on in Koala. Koala is not ideal for this.

Beatmaker 3 can however. So I’d sample it once in there, put time stretch on, done

You can with the retro or beats stretch

+1 and beat-stretch is perfect for this as it retains the transients.
Retro is a bit more granular but works quite well when you stay within +/- 1 octave from the original.

  • So I’ll sample and play it back with Koala! Great!

I am planning of using Helium for recording midi and pattern building of those arpeggios.

    Thank you guys!
