Melodic synthpop from Kloon

edited July 2014 in General App Discussion

Not exactly done in iOS this time, but i hope you guys dont mind me posting it here!

Maybe it's a bit cheesy, what you guys think?

  • The bump of shame! Sorry about that.

Anyone care to give it a listen and maybe a comment?!

    Cheers and take care!

Hi Kloon. Honestly, I would ditch the first 2 minutes and concentrate on evolving the middle 2 minutes into it's own track, which I really liked. The sparser elements of the mix worked much better without the lead melody in my opinion. Good stuff.

  • I like it! Got a nice Erasure 1985 feel. I'm not a big fan of the actual lead sound. I like it at 1:26 when the wobbly double comes in with it though that might be too much for the intro. I like the middle section a lot. I might consider adding a on-the-big-side snare in when the squelchy 303 sound comes in to give it a slightly bigger hit. Then that snare would stay in to tie the refrain to the middle section through the end.

  • Thanks guys for listening & taking the time for some constructive critisism.

    Appreciate it! :)

  • Haha, yeah definitely erasure/early Depeche mode. Also half way through it turns into marek bilinski

  • @supadom Thanks for listening! :)

  • Good stuff, I like it. Lmk, if you want a vocalist on some tracks. I am also a decent lyricist. Two studio tracks on my site: www.moonwolf.us.

Just realized that I left off part of the feedback there, the good part. I like the lead melody a lot, just not the sound. :)

Yeah, I had another listen. It's the lead's sound that I didn't particularly like. The melody itself has some nice parts.

  • @MoonWolf Thanks, will check out your page and get back if interested!

@syrupcore & SpookyZoo Thanks again guys! Yeah, maybe choosing that lead sound wasnt the wisest move. I live and learn!! :)

Ya, no offense intended, but the lead sounded like my Grandmother's old Wurlitzer she used to play. (Sweet Georgia Brown!) I actually thought that lead sound was different enough from the typical lead sounds we hear nowadays to give your track a unique flavor. Like if Lawerence Welk was jamming with Vince Clarke!

That is actually a valid point as well!

    Thanks! :)

    FTW!

Honestly think experimenting with that lead sound and a way to tie the bridge into the refrain will kick this tune up a notch.
