So far no issues. Been into Loopy Pro using Ruismaker, Klevgrand Pads, and multiple TB and Audio Damage effects. Also worked on a few NYT crosswords and played Dicey Dungeons and Into the Breach
Thanks.
@Montreal_Music
I have not yet, I usually wait at max one week just to get some feedback and info on the update.
And macOS 12.5. All's well on the desktop front also.
I think this was mainly a security update on all devices.
I've not had the MacOS update notification yet, it still tells me 12.4 is the most up to date version. No doubt it'll be along soon!
You can also check it manually (in System Preferences > Software Update) to speed things up if you don’t want to wait.
I can’t speak for Mac but on iPad/iPhone the notification doesn’t always show up as soon as the update is out. But if you go into the software update it will be there.
That’s right. I believe Apple pushes updates out on a location-based time schedule, so it’ll eventually roll around. But it’s nearly always possible to update sooner by manually kickstarting the process.
it hadn't appeared even with prompting this afternoon, but having come back to my computer this evening the update has arrived.
Have been on 15.6 for over 24 hours now, been using Drambo with various au’s, a little of Cubasis 3 and loopy pro. No issues just as snappy as usual, battery also seems to be about the same
That makes sense, in terms of the location time schedule thing. Similar to the way app pricing/updates/releases trickles across the globe.
Updated last night, no probs so far today, AUM hosting loopy today + lumbeats apps no dramas
One ibassist crash but eh, it just does that sometimes
Oh and an AUM session hung when I pulled out the zedi usb without shutting anything down first, but all states remembered so no worries on restart
This evening I updated my Air 2 from iOS 14.** to 15.6 over wifi. Presently it’s been cycling the apple logo every two minutes. I’m concerned it may be bricked. I’m going to leave it be overnight while keeping it lightning powered.
If I can get any advice if I find it’s still cycling to the apple logo at two minute intervals, it would be much appreciated.
Hard reboot? Several times if it's needed... Reinstall if you can't get it past the startup?
Hope you backed up everything.
Long press of the home button and long press of the power button shut it off. Unfortunately powering it up brings us back to the two minute apple logo cycle.
And you kept holding down the Home button and power button for about 10 seconds until it restarted on its own, right? You have to keep holding both buttons down UNTIL the iPad looks like it’s starting up again.
I have had this problem. For me the only thing that worked was to just leave it powered in and wait. Eventually your device will be out of battery but just leave it powered in and don't turn it on again. Hopefully within a day or two you will find it has magically powered itself back on again and is charging as normal. This happens to me about once a month or two.
@Kandavu . How is (or was) your free storage? Updating creates a couple of temporary partitions on the drive, and I wonder if it's out of space. I'd be surprised if it didn't check that in advance, but maybe. The system image is about 7 GB, so it probably needs about 14 GB to complete the update.
This is not normal. It sounds like either bad hardware or a corrupted OS install. Have you tried restoring from a backup?
@NeuM, @Galvinski, : I was able to get into the software iPad recovery mode using the long press of the home & power button tethering to my Mac. It has gone through its fifth update cycle, it hangs at 80% update verification then reverts back to the two minute apple logo.
@uncledave: My Air 2 was at 122 GB of 128Gb. I thought that was enough.
Thanks for your input guys. Any more suggestions? @espiegel123 : If it can’t get beyond the verification process it seems there is the Restore IPad option left to try.
I suppose it’s time to wipe the device and reinstall from a backup.
@zah: How much spare storage did you have before committing to the update?
