Lo Fly Dirt - where to put this?
I’m sure this has probably been covered…
I’m after the vinyl crackles from lo fly dirt, but if you put it on the master, it turns the whole mix to mono. Put it on its own node and it makes no noise.
I don’t really want it as an effect on any part of my track as I don’t want it to go mono but I want them crackles. Any recommendations?

Right. Was going to look at bussing and send options in AUM but I don’t use Loopy Pro yet.
You can almost treat them the same tbf - the mixer in loopy pro is like a mini AUM for the most part.
I did think about bussing a few tracks to a bus with Lofi dirt on it. Problem is, I really just want the vinyl crackles isolated, so I can process them with compressors etc for that ASMR feel. I just bought 4Pockets time machine but that’s no different.
Might have to just use a sample instead.
Edit: ok figured out a way with both time machine and lofly. Setup a bus with a tiny amount of one if your tracks going through and put it on there. That’s enough to trigger the pops and crackles.
When you put it on its own node, did you turn off idling? Loopy will normally idle an effect that has no signal going into it. My guess is that if you tirn idling off you can have it on its own channel.
You’re totally right! Thanks mate 👍
I have Lo-Fly loaded into an fx slot in AUM with nothing else and transport stopped. It’s hissing and crackling nicely. You could just record that, no?
That is what he was doing , but he forgot about a Loopy feature (which you can turn off) that essentially turns off fx (to save CPU) when no signal is detected at the input. When an effect generates audio rather than processes audio, you need to tell Loopy to leave the effect on.
😎👍🏼
