Stay indoors where it’s warm during the winter. 😜

What?!? You didn’t say when they were traveling 😉

  • A visit to the Buddy Guy’s blues club would probably be in order, as well as dinner at Pizzeria Uno or Due, or any of the other highly rated Chicago deep dish pizzerias (there are huge battles over which is the best).

  • Try to catch a show at the Empty Bottle or Schubas. Drink beers on the Riverwalk. Walk the 606. Hang out on Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park. Eat at the restaurants and street dining area in Fulton Market. Go to the lake by Montrose Harbor. Enjoy summertime chi 😎

  • Still haven’t even made it outside of downtown in my expeditions there. I really enjoyed the lake and Grant Park area. Lots of great food. I liked the museums a lot as well. Cubs Cardinals baseball games are fun to catch if your friend happens to be there during one although I’ve only been to those in St. Louis but plan on getting to one at Wrigley one of these days. I think my favorite thing to do there though is just walk the streets and look at all the incredible architecture

    THIS! ^

I was going to write exactly that. Both are unique to Chicago and both are worthy of anyone's bucket list. A good Chicago deep dish pizza takes at least 45 minutes to prepare. So I hope you like beer to fill-in the time. B)

Take the “L” (elevated train) downtown, visit the “Miracle Mile”, go check out Lakeshore Drive.

And the Museum of Science and Industry is nice:

And if you want to play some vintage video games, check out this place in nearby Brookfield ($20 entry fee, no quarters or tokens needed, play all day):

  • Chicago has some amazing museums, and they are close to the lake front where you’ll find plenty of walking paths. I absolutely love the Arboretum, but it’s a bit farther out of town. The area around Clark and Belmont has tons of great music shops and other stores unlike anything you’ve seen.

Saucy Porka for hole-in-the-wall Latin-Asian fusion. I used to get lunch there like 5 days a week.

A Chicago dog from Wrigley or Portillo’s or wherever, poppy seed bun, celery salt, sport peppers, sweet relish, tomato, etc…

All the Intelligentsia coffee you can drink…

As for pizza I prefer New Haven style 😎

  • I'd hang out here for a week or two.

  • Wicker Park Fest Sat and Sun. It’s free. Armand Hammer (Billy Woods and Elucid) is headlining the first day. Cherry Glazer the latter.

    Also, https://chicago.ohmyrockness.com/

  • All the previously mentioned for sure.
Staples include Millennium Park, Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier.
Have to hit a couple of the craft breweries. Revolution, Maplewood, Half Acre.
New restaurant called Rosemary is getting a lot of attention. Tons of great sushi.
If you’re coming in from out of the city you can take the Metra in. Because parking’s a bitch.
I’m in the Rockford area and we have Pig Minds brewery/vegan restaurant. Parking’s a lot better here😉.

  • Thanks. My “friend” definitely liked the recommendation

Okay, okay…it was me. I was in Chicago briefly yesterday. Got there in the evening so only visited the pier, and downtown areas. I’ll definitely be back again. It’s actually really cool.

@seonnthaproducer. Yeah, you need more time than that but glad you enjoyed it.
    What were you here for?

Combination of things…turns out I have family here. Also, work, and meeting up with a few musicial acts and bands.

Sadly, wish it could be longer. I’ll definitely take time to visit Chicago and other cities more.

  • Here’s the main reason I came to Chicago…

I’m still overwhelmed by this…got to meet Switchfoot live.

  • Very cool. What is the venue?

I believe it's the Honeywell Centre. It's a few hours away from downtown Chicago. But was definitely worth the trip.

Seon! What's up fam. I was born in Chicago. Hit me up if you need some tips. If you eat hot dogs check out Gene and Jude's on your way back to the airport. Check out Gramaphone Records and Reckless Records if in the city. I haven't been back in years and moved over a decade ago so a lot has changed since I've been last. If downtown check out Grant Park, the fountain and the Bean. Navy Pier. Touristy stuff I know but cool. Take a river tour. Hit up The Green Mill for some Jazz in Uptown or the Empty Bottle for some alternative in Ukrainian Village.

It's Magnificent Mile. Miracle Mile is here in LA.

Thanks for the correction. The LA "Mile" overwrote the memory of the Chicago "Mile". Regardless, it's worth visiting.

  • I like to slowly vary the wave knob from saw to pulse over the duration of a scene – 3, 4, 5 bars or whatever, as a recorded parameter

  • @seonnthaproducer

Are you going to do a video?
I haven't ever been to Chicago so it would
be cool to see what it's like from your perspective from
what you've been saying it sounds like you've been having fun. ;)
